I give up, Milton Bradley is going to do what Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Andre Dawson, Ryne Sanberg, Mark Grace, Sammy Sosa, Moises Alou, Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, and Alfonso Soriano couldnt and be the missing piece that will finally take us to the promised land. This is the last I'll speak on it.

What do you give up on? You made a terrible argument and got called out on it.

You don't want to get busted out for logical fallacies? Bring something better than cherry picked stats to the table.

Except nobdy here was saying that he was "the piece." One of the probems with Hendry's take on this team is that almost every player he goes after has to be "THE piece" to winning it all as opposed to just a piece that will help the overall team.

No one said that. They disagreed and brought up stats to show that your statement that Jones is better than Bradley was wrong. Since you couldn't handle that, you apparently want to go to the other extreme.

Not to be too defensive of Jacque Jones here, but there is something to be said for reliability. Bradley has only cracked 500 ABs once in his entire career. I agree that the presence of Murton puts the Cubs in a good position to count on someone like that but you guys are acting like he's a consistent run producer when he's practically guaranteed to break down.

Bradley's lifetime OPS of .797 isn't so much better than Jones' .783 that I'd fall all over myself to sign him.

Wait a minute! Are you suggesting that actually being healthy enough to take the field is valuable? Shocking!

Waiting for some non-opinion based reasons as to why Bradley is/was better than Dawson.

Dawson, despite his knee issues he developed in Montreal was very durable. He was also usually on very bad teams, and still hit a ton. Defensively he was also very good.

No knock on Milton, but he has a long way to go to be mentioned with Dawson.

Fun Fact: RBIs since Ken Griffey Jr. became a Red in 2000--

Jones 579 ------------------------------Griffey 549

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'

Cherry picked stats win ballgames.

Furthermore, why can't a role player be the missing piece to a team winning the World Series?

heh milton bradley is every bit the player andre dawson was, but let's not get into that

When he was with Boston?

the entire career.

Uh, they are completely two different players. One was is a OBP centered guy with mediocre power. The other is a guy with big power and a mediocre OBP. Bradley's never hit more than 46 XBH in a single season. Dawson did that 15 freaking times. Not to mention he was the probably the NL's best CF for the during the 77-83 seasons.

Also, Dawson doesn't make SamueL L. Jackson in unbreakable seem durable like Bradley does.
