It looks like the Angels will end up with A-Rod or Miguel Cabrera. That would make Brandon Wood expendable for them. He came up the ladder playing SS. What would everyone trade to have him fill the SS spot? His defense might be subpar and Wood's contact is weak but what power. Brandon Wood might even grow into a 25+ homer a year player. I wouldn't trade Rich Hill for him but maybe Marshall, Gallagher/Veal and Jacque Jones?

That's the low end of expectations for him. He could potentially hit 40-50

I'm really not too big of a Brandon Wood fan, to tell you the truth.

Is he going to stick at SS?

Me either. I've always had a bad hunch about him. And you usually don't see 3 major leaguers traded for a single prospect.

Brandon Wood will be a Marlin soon enough. Miguel Cabrera, come on down!

Honestly, if I am the Marlins I would ask for Kendry Morales over Brandon Wood.

So that Wood would still be available to the Cubs? I'm surprised Meph, Morales is a commodity.

I am fairly unimpressed with Kendry Morales.

And Brandon Wood? A 50 homer guy? I am dubious. And look at those strikeouts. Who is he, Brad Eldred's long lost little brother?

I don't know that much about either prospect but for a guy with Cabrera's talent couldn't they get both?

I have interest in him. However, I wouldn't want to give too much. I think he could be a great shortstop, but the average of 24 errors worries me. Then again I am STILL a Theriot fan so maybe I don't know as much as I like to think I know.

The range of his power projections make me nervous. I've read some scouts project 40+ HRs/year and others more in the 25 range, which would render him a less sure-handed Alex Gonzalez (the 'booted double play' one, not the one with the Reds). His lack of average and high strikeout totals don't really bother me as long as he can play SS AND hit for this tremendous power some seem to think he has, but I'm pretty skeptical. No way would I give up multiple major league regulars for him at this stage...prospects, definitely.

Yes, they could. Anaheim doesn't have much reason not to offer both. That deal would be very beneficial for both teams. Your basic no brainer.

Imagine if they traded for Miggy and signed ARod? They could deal their SS Cabrera (I think) and get back some decent starter. I think the Angels could make some moves that could cause a sonic boom this year.

A-Rod, Miggy and Vlad as your 3-4-5 hitters would be categorically unfair.
