I switched over to espnews to see if they were doing any hot stove talk. Was nice to see they now have a PATRIOTS category right between NFL and NCAAF on the ticker.

I really wish I could believe you were joking. This is why the Patriots have to be stopped, by whatever means necessary.

I love it!

Jim Hendry: Guy's lets get this done...3 years 42 million

Fukudome Camp: Sounds great. Fax us the paperwork.

Jim Hendry: Ok, Ok, lets talk...3 years 45 million

Fukudome Camp: Jim, we agreed to 3@42 I thought.

Jim Hendry: Trust me guys, KC isn't a good fit. 3 @ 60 and that is my final offer

Fukudome Camp: Jim, please stop.

Hahaha, that might have been what happened. Wouldn't surprise me.

I bet KW threw 3/60 at him or some number from all the heat he has gotten for losing out on Miggy and Hunter

Actually, this is where my money is.

BREAKING -- looks like Fukudome will decide today. Someone made a big offer. My guess? Cubs.

Any confirmation of this?

Off to bed now. When I wake up, I want to read that Fukudome will be a Cub. 8-)

i am not a huge fan of the patriots or anything, but i love to see history being made right before my eyes...

i am rooting hard for the pats to go 16-0 and the dolphins to crash at 0-16

that is a fantastic season if you ask me

Right now, they haven't done that. Don't call me when you're in my town. Call me when you're on my block and I see ya next door when you're moving your furniture in. That's when I know you're going to the championship to play. And if you win it I'll be dressed up in a tuxedo waiting on my bride.

This calls for extreme measures.

Dent-McMichael-Perry-Hampton

Marshall-Singletary-Wilson

Richardson-Fencik-Duerson-Frazier

I'm sorry, Mr. Brady, but it had to be done.

Let's assume for the moment we get Fukudome. Where does he bat? 1st? 2nd? 5th? 6th?

CF Pie

RF Fukudome

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

LF Soriano

C Soto

2B DeRosa

SS Theriot

That seems to be the best available.

What did they say about the Patriots? As your average sports fan, I would really like to know what the Patriots are doing every hour of every day. Anyone know how Tom Brady's stomach is sitting after his Jalapeño Omlette he had this morning?

On a serious note, on Monday night my friend from Boston IM'd me to ask me what I thought about "the game". When I said "What game?" He acted like I was a complete moron because I didn't watch or obsessively follow the Patriots-Ravens game (I was at the Bulls/Mavs game). Boston people need to be stopped.

Pie won't hit first, but I agree Fukudome looks to be our 2 hitter.

Pie is not going to lead off on this team. Regardless of what has been said I still think Soriano will lead off next year. I think it'd be this:

LF Soriano

2B DeRosa

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

RF Fukudome

C Soto

CF Pie

SS Theriot

Pie is NOT a leadoff hitter. Soriano will be left there unless the Cubs acquire someone like Brian Roberts (pipedream).

I wholeheartedly agree. My boss is from Boston. Ever since 2004, he's become even more insufferable. I actually find myself rooting for the Yankees at times.

Pie would be the worst person to lead off.

If they get him and make no other deals, although it will never happen I'd go with this:

DeRosa

Fukudome

Lee

Ramirez

Soriano

Murton

Soto

Cedeno

Get Pie some more AB's in Iowa with the thought of bringing him up ASB or end of the year. Plan on him starting in CF next year. If Pie is in CF with Murton as 4th OF, leave the top 5 alone, move Soto and Cendeno up a spot and put Felix in the 8-spot.

If I see this thread updated again and it's because of a post about the stupid Patriots, someone is getting kidney-punched.

I think Sori stays in the leadoff spot. He K's to much to be put in big RBI situations. Just MO. I wish he would cut down his swing a little and be more selective at the plate.
