what kind of sanctions is IU gonna face? :D

additional loss of scholarship and/or post season ineligiblity

Depends on how they handle Sampson. My guess is that they fire Sampson at the end of the season.

correct :beg: I'm hoping they do fire Sampson and are thus spared post season eligiblity

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy! Sampscum shouldn't be able to get another job after this! :yahoo:

i didnt catch it all, but it had the feel that nothing was really said. blah blah blah, we'll wait on the investigation.

I had the feeling that is what would happen but I held out hope that Kelvin Sanctions would get canned.

I'm sure probation and scholarship restrictions will be involved. And as long as Sampson is fired, I don't think we will get a postseason ban but who knows. We might end up taking it on the chin for one season but it won't be the death of the program AS LONG AS we hire a proper replacement who is both a quality coach & recruiter and a proper MAN.

Sampson can't get fired soon enough for me. I'd say more but I'd get censored pretty heavily.

Does this really surprise anyone. It was just a matter of time. IU knew what he was about before they hire him. I feel no pitty for them.

I don't know, it's not like he had a long history of cheating...the OU violations surfaced at the exact same time as the hiring. Granted, if I'm the AD and I have knowledge of those issues then I don't touch him. It's not like IU fans were clamoring for Sampson to be hired. The hiring came completely out of left field, nobody had KS on the list except apparently Greenspan. Once he was hired, I'm not sure as fans we had much choice but to give the benefit of the doubt and hope that he learned his lesson. So much for that.

I can't believe he's doing this stuff again. At least it's going to (presumably) kill someone else's program and not ours.

I just wonder what the NCAA does to IU after this is all said and done. Indiana, while not what they used to be, are still a big name Basketball school. I see Sampson getting fired then the NCAA will barely give them a slap on the wrists. NCAA rarely goes after the top name programs. IU is definitely that in basketball.

Good first half. If shots weren't falling for UW, IU would be up big. IU seems to be taking this game the right way emotionally. Hopefully, it last throughout the 2nd half. I worry about the letdown in the next game with presumably more rumors about Sampson and the program's direction come out, but it is College Gameday this saturday, so maybe not.

Oh, and Greg Paulus may be my least favorite college basketball player of all time.

John Scheyer

Actually, for me it's Lester Earl and basically every Kansas player. But Lester Earl especially. Oh, and Kenny Gregory.

Mine is every 2007-08 Mizzou player sans DeMarre Carroll, JT Tiller, and Keon Lawrence.

Big East showing off how they only have 2 horrible teams as (apparently not terrible) St. John's takes on Cincy in an epic battle.

So Illinois finally beats a team with a pulse and now you're awful talky.

ND loses to UConn 84-78 despite a Herculean effort (32/17) by Harangody. Not a bad loss, because UConn never loses at Gampel Pavilion, but god, I wanted that one.

You said so yourself how ridiculous it was that these 2 teams are on national TV while ND/UConn was relegated to ESPNU. Implying these 2 along with DePaul are better than Illinois, Iowa, Penn St., Bama, and South Carolina is pretty bold. And I can't stop talking about how much the Big 10 and SEC suck this year. You act as if it's some great insult to say that 1/4 of the Big East is crappy. 1/4 of every conference(on average) is crappy. 1/4 of every conference(again on average) are top tier. That was my only point that saying the Big East has a ton of teams up top is misleading because they're drawing from a pool of 4 more teams than any other conference. Of course they're going to have more top teams. Instead you reactionarily responded by defending dogbleep teams like St. John's and Rutgers.(beating Nova at home doesn't make you some sort of threat in your home court.)
