Has anyone's mind changed about the outcome of this series? I was really hoping we could have pulled that out last night. But now the pressure is on us tonight. Can we handle it?

Anyone think this series goes to the D-Backs?

I think after losing last night, the series is a coin flip, maybe favoring the DBacks a bit. The Cubs need to win 3 of 4, but are heavily favored in the next three games.

I have no doubt we'll win this series. NONE!

If you are right, I will give you one month of free premium!!

We might was well give me it now. Have faith brother, we'll be fine.

Considering I was thinking we'd win this series but lose the first game all along, no, I can't really say I've changed my mind, even though the loss stings.

It always does when you were inches away from winning it. Stings like a bitch.

I'll reserve judgement until after tonight. It's very simple to me now:

1) Win tonight, home field switches back to us and thus the advantage.

2) Lose tonight, we'd have to win 3 in a row including once against Webb so the DBacks have the strong advantage.

You're cheating. I asked how you felt now.

I see you're going out on a limb there..

Considering I thought it was a coin flip going in, and AZ already has the advantage, I'd have to lean to the DBacks. The fact that everybody and his mother were inexplicably calling the Cubs a favorite made it a great bet to pick the DBacks. I don't like the chances of winning with Zambrano at home on 3 days rest, which just makes winning the next two all the more important.

I'm honestly not worried about Z. He showed me last night he could handle the pressure. I'm more worried with our offense and how we'll do against this lefty tonight.

The Cubs have the advantage. Cubs starting pitching in games 2-4 is better than the D-backs. Cubs offense needs to put up only about 12 runs to win next three games.

We have the matchup advantage in 2 and 3, 4's a toss up, 5's theirs. Advantage D-Backs

Right now BP puts us at 30% chance of winning this series. Let's beat these odds, damn it!!

Head: we can still take this thing.

Heart: pressure of losing game one, criticism of Marmol decision, Cubbie doom.

Yeah, I thought it was a coin flip too. I only like Z's chances because he'll be against Owings, who isn't anything special, and the Cubs hit him well 2x this year.

I'll guarantee they don't lose Friday!

As demoralizing as the game 1 loss was, I think most of us thought that if we lost any game, it would be the one against Webb. So, as much as last night sucked, it kinda fell in line with our predictions.

In a sick kind of way, the Cubs are right where I thought they would be after one game. I got the Cbs winning the next three games from the beginning, so I will stick with that prediction.

You gotta love post-season baseball. It's all about pitching and defense and if the Cubs have that, no worries.

I'm confident the Cubs will win tonight but for some reason I expect Rich Hill to fold under the pressure and Zambrano to lose in a gutty but not good enough performance.

i certainly understand this sentiment, but would you rather have z going on 3 days rest for game 4 (1 fewer day off than typical) or 5 for game 5 (1 more day off than typical)? one thing i've always heard (though not really sure is true) is that z on longer-than-normal rest is "too strong," which saps his normal movement. for my money, i'd rather have z on short rest than marquis at all, which seems to be the only other alternative.
