I can't believe Rox are about to go 2-0 in Philly. This series is done!

I'd love to see the Rox and Cubs go at it.

The 2001 Yankees disagree with you.

At least Howard is looking better. And it helps getting a HR off a lefty.

He and Utley need to get it going if the Phillies want to come back in this series.

10-3 Rox.

I'll say it right now if we can get past AZ, we'll get to the World Series. Rox are playing out of their mind right now. They have to slow down sometime. Z, Lilly, and Hill will do the honors.

Yeah, let's worry about actually winning a game against Arizona before we talk about the World Series.

My thoughts exactly.

How come everyone wants the Rox to win? Theyre on freakin fire. You gotta admit playing philly would be wayyyy more exciting with that team and crowd..We beat the rockies this year, but theyre going nuts right now. They got a good lineup

I want the Rockies because then we will have home field advantage and I will get to go to at least 2 games, possibly three. If the Phils win, they have home field advantage and I will only possibly go to one game. Additionally, I see the Phillies and the Rockies as pretty much the same team.

Sure they are struggling in this game, but they barely lost yesterday and going into the playoffs won 13 of 17, exactly the same as the Rockies (admittedly a cherry picked cut off point, but you understand what I'm saying).

I don't want Philly and their ridiculous "fans" to get anywhere near the World Series.

Plus, seeing the Phils die a quick, easy death just twists the dagger in the Mets' dead corpse.

What happens with a wild pitch on a strikeout with first base occupied and TWO outs?

any strikeout with first base occupied is a strikeout and you can not reach first i believe, if you could, it would punish the team for having someone first, as the catcher could just let one go and force you into a double play.. IIRC

Announcers on TBS just clarified that the catcher does indeed have to throw to first in the situation with two outs. I guess the rationale is that the double play is not in order.

so.... is the situation that the guy on first can advance if he chooses too, as well as the guy at the plate and either can be thrown out for choosing to run (obviously the guy at the plate is out if he chooses not to, as he struck out)?

The guy at first is going to be out if he doesn't run to 1st, and the inning is going to be over, so of course he runs. If he runs to 1st then of course the guy from 1st is going to run because the batter can't be safe at first until the runner leaves 1st. That's all with 2 outs. As mentioned earlier the batter is out with less than 2 outs, cause it's a cinch DP otherwise.

I obviously want the Rocks to win so we'd get HFA next series (should we advance), but man... the way they're playing right now, HFA could matter very little.
