Today has been as slow of a day as you could possibly imagine. Not only am I excited about the Cubs tomorrow night, but I can't wait until this game as well. It will be interesting to see if Colorado has any hangover from the game last night and Hamels will definitely make it as tough as possible on Colorado's offense.

Either way, go Rockies.

phillies are going to dominate this series

I don't if they'll dominate but, they'll win the series.

The Phillies are little more consistent on the road as a result, they've got a pretty good chance at getting one in Colorado. True, the Rockies pitching has improved but, the fact remains they're still a team that' awesome in Colorado and not so on the road:

Home: .298,.372,.480 BA,OBP,SLP

Road: .261,.336,.395

Compared to the Phillies splits:

Home: .280,.357,.475 BA,OBP,SLP

Road: .268,.350,.442

Lord, the Rockies are almost hitting for no power on the road.

Thankfully, their road games will be played in that stadium in Philly. I think they'll do better than their road humbers.

GO ATKINS AND UTLEY!!

Both pitchers very impressive in the first inning with 1-2-3 innings. Hamels had 2 k's while Francis struck out the side.

I can honestly say I'd rather have Jacque Jones facing a lefty than Brad Hawpe. He is completely lost against lefties.

Is the consensus here that the Rockies would be a more favorable opponent to "a team" that advances from the Cubs/D'backs series?

I don't think it's a slam dunk, but I'd rather face Francis than Hamels and Rollins-Utley-Howard is scarier than the Rockies offense.

Also, we'd have home field.

I like our chances against the Rockies, but honestly I just like the team better...I'm a fan of Helton's and as long as it doesn't hurt the Cubs, I'd like to see him do well.
