I'm confused why Marquis is on the roster.

Because he has 2 years left on his deal, and they dont want to piss him off

After 99 years of futility, the Cubs shouldn't care about feelings. Marquis hurt me feelings with his mediocre pitching this year. With that said, he won't be the reason we lose the series. Plus he can pinch hit early and not cause Lou to waste a hitter. Did Hart start in the minors? He could have been the longman. He still might be.

I agree but thats why I feel he made it. With that said, Id be shocked to see Marquis in a game unless there is a blowout one way or the other.

Hart has no experience starting in the bigs, let alone the playoffs. Im glad hes on the roster over Oh Man, but he needs to be in the role hes been thriving in the past few weeks, and come April, we'll see if he can start.

As for Marquis over Marshall, both had dissapointing finishes to the season, but I guess Marquis' experience won him his spot. Im just glad it wasnt Trashel.

I think partly for injury insurance and as a veteran long man.

I likely would've gone with Monroe over Fontenot and Marshall over Marquis. But neither are big complaints. I'm ecstatic that Soto is catching game one.

Yeah, neither are good, but I'd have definitely chosen Monroe over Fontenot. There shouldn't be too much of an impact, however.

Suntimes[/url]"]Piniella delayed announcing his final roster until he checked the health of left-handed pinch hitter Daryle Ward, who is nursing a sprained left thumb. Ward was able to swing and make contact without pain during batting practice, and he could throw, giving him the green light.

I flippin love who is in charge now. These are the moves that Dusty would have screwed up BADLY. He would have Blanco and Monroe on the bench and Marquis starting over Hill. And Trachsel would definitely be in the pen!

I can't remember a season where I didn't second guess or get upset at our manager. Lou has been a GOD send!
