I'd rather pony up a bit more for ARod and give the job to Felix

Is there any chance that this actually happens? (I don't mean this to come off as an insult. This is a genuine question.)

Yeah, there is.

But it's much more likely Hendry trades Pie for Tejada and then signs Torii Hunter.

I don't know, with the payroll increase the would come with adding Tejada and Hunter, you could have ARod for marginally more. And with the offensive boost that ARod would bring, Pie could get his shot with minimal risk.

Tejada is declining, and I don't think Hunter's 2007 numbers are at all indicative of his future production.

I don't agree with it either. I'm just mentioning that Hendry tends to pursue "his guys" endlessly. And Tejada and Hunter are both "his guys" and available.

Absolutely not.

Besides, it's not gonna happen anyway. Not only would we become the "ageless wonders" but it's far too much money to spend.

I'm on record for going after Andruw. Pie can slide over to RF and the Cubs can trade Murton or Pie can play CF and the Cubs can trade Murton. They can keep Murton too, but they might as well as they don't seem to value his skill set. Idiots.

A-Rod won't be leaving the Bronx, that is crazy talk dreamed up in lala land.

SS aren't exactly cheap these days. Renteria and Tejada are also on the wrong side of 30 and would cost some serious talent to get.

I'd pass. He's going to be looking for a big multi-year contract. The Cubs have no room for one (OK, I'd make an exception for A-Rod).

I'd look for a 1-2 year commitment - Tejada, Dunn, Burrell, Griffey, Reteria, et. al.

I wouldn't be too disappointed with a Soriano/Pie/Murton/Jones OF (particularly if they find a SS upgrade).

i agree. i'd play jones in right, though. that would be a good defensive outfield. arms all around.

14 million for an 88 OPS+? No thanks.

14? I thought the ESPN story said Boras was asking for 20 per.

it'll be interesting to see how this season's numbers will affect that -- he'll ask for 20, but I don't see him getting much more than 16

Who the heck is Fukudome?

I cant believe you havent heard of "Bad Max Beyond the Fukudome" Its no Deepthroat or Debbie Does Dallas but its pretty famous. I cant give the plot details here but the "Break a Deal, Spin the Wheel" has some pretty gross stuff on it.

I have no desire to see Andruw Jones in a Cub uniform next year for the money he's going to command.
