I haven't seen anything definitive about this around here or in any press releases concerning the sale of playoff tickets, but what is the process for refunding tickets? Do they also refund the shipping or convenience charge? Can we send tickets in the mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope somewhere and expect said envelope to return to our homes with refund check enclosed?

P.S. Any answer accompanied with applicable link would be extra appreciated.

Since most people paid with credit cards, I'd assume they'd just refund the credit card and not even require you to mail the tickets back. That's just my guess though.

In past experience with other clubs, they just refund the credit card, but they do not refund the handling and service charges. I think that's what is usually done.

For season ticket holders, they will just credit the money to their account.

I heard it can take months for refunds is this true? Are we basically giving the Cubs an interest free loan?

yes

and you do have to return the tickets.

Do we have to physically take them in, or can they be mailed? Does it have to be specifically to the Wrigley Field box office, or are there other ticket outlets that can issue refunds?

It says on the back of the tickets that they have to be returned, which is horribly inefficient. Even Ticketmaster just refunds the credit card immediately once an event is cancelled.

what the hell are they going to do with them?

sell them to stupid people? (whoops I thought you meant what they thought people would do with them to make them give them back, what the Cubs would do... who knows)

is it a situation like what they do with all of the 2007 NL East Champion New York Mets junk in that they ship it to 3rd world countries and whatnot?

Cubs.com[/url]"]Fans who purchased Cubs postseason tickets online or by telephone through tickets.com can obtain a refund by sending their tickets to the Cubs at 1060 West Addison, Chicago, IL 60613-4397. Season ticket holders will receive an automatic refund. All fans holding Cubs postseason tickets should refer to the back of the tickets for complete information.

This makes absolutely no sense.

What about if we chose Print at home tickets?

This is [expletive]. Tickets are going to get lost in the mail and people are going to be out hundreds of dollars. Now I have to pay extra to have signature confirmation to make sure that some shadeball doesn't mess with my refund. And I have to eat the shipping and "convenience" fees. Freaking [expletive] ass Cubs.

The Cubs don't really expect people to mail the tickets back, do they? That's ridiculous if they do. People are definitely going to lose money on a game never played if that's the case.

every person who doesn't send back tickets is free money for the cubs

I don't see how it could possibly be legal not to refund the "convenience fees." In effect that's taking your money and not giving you anything in return for it. There's a word for that: theft.

Which, in fact, is the same word for their performance in the playoffs.

"Theft" is this organization's middle name. Instant replay, ballpark's poor conditions, etc.

print out 50 of each ticket and try to sell them to the stupid people someone else in here mentioned.

It´s astonishing and somehow shocking that a full refund - including all fees - is not being credited back automatically on the Credit Card. Where I live some Consumer Protection organisation would sue them immediatly for that, and the newspapers would put this on their front sides as a big scandal: "CUBS BETRAY THEIR FANS" or something.

But as we say: Different countries, different morals...

You have to mail your printer back to them.
