Z wouldn't have done that.

Way to pitch for game 4, Lou.

So you can see the future too? Well that's swell.

Youre being unreasonable. Z was pitching great. If he gave up the home run, fine that sucks. But he had 85 damn pitches. It was a terrible decision to take him out regardless of what Marmol did.

I'm being unreasonable? Not exactly.

If Marmol comes in and goes 1-2-3, nobody says anything.

If Lou leaves Z in and he gives up runs, people would be complaining that Z should have been removed just like they're complaining that he was removed.

I was complaining about the move beforehand, so, no, I would say something even if Marmol goes 1-2-3. You're taxing your pen early and there are only 2 (maybe 3 w/ Wood) strong guys when Z can easily go about 15 more pitches and probably not suffer too much in the 4 days.

Marquis can start if you really can't handle Z on 3 days rest.

There are extra days off in the playoffs so the pen can be used a little bit more than normal.

Finally.

This one's on Lou. God dammit.

You said the Cubs win if the D-Bags don't score in the 6th. I'm sticking with that.

I revise:

The Cubs win if the D-Backs don't score in the 6th and Lou doesn't do anything stupid like pull Z when he was cruising.

How some of you are blaming LOU for putting our BEST LIGHTS OUT reliever in the game is beyond me.

It's absolutely ridiculous. It's not like he went to Eyre. He went to our BEST guy out of the pen. Our RIVERA.

Christ. The stupidity is overwhelming. Can we blame our PLAYERS for once? It's not like Lou put us in a bad situation. he put our best in.

agreed... agreed.

I think Lou's only mistake tonight was Z not bunting.

Not complaining about the reliever he chose, complaining about the choice of going to the pen so early.

EDIT: Z could arguably have still been our best in.

Same here.

I blame Lou for playing for a game that may never come...

Why does Jones just keep giving free bases while attempting to throw out runners he has NO CHANCE at?!?!?

I wouldn't put it on Lou. It isn't as if he pulled Zambrano for Marquis. Marmol has been incredibly dependable. If you have a great option to send to the mound to replace Zambrano, you'd think you'd be able to afford to rest him for game 4. But, like all things in baseball, you can never be sure of the outcome, and it didn't work. It wasn't a great move, but it didn't cost the Cubs the game. Their inability to hit Webb has been the real problem.

No. The Cubs' best was already in the game.

6 outs for 2 runs, uh oh.

On the bright side, Webb isn't as fresh as he was when he started the game about 27 pitches ago

On the bright side, Webb isn't pitching anymore. Unfortunately, they have their best relievers in the game as well, but hopefully the Cubs can do the same thing to them that the Diamondbacks did to Marmol.

That's fine. If we would have lose because this game went into 13 and we had marquis lose, then it's on lou.

Marmol had to put up a zero. It's HIS fault, and his fault alone.

I agree with your sentiment, but no he didn't. Z was cruising and only had 85 pitches.

I agree, if he was going to take out Z, marmol was th right choice, though.
