[east coast bias rant] These start times are ridiculous. The Cubs have enough of a national presence that they shouldn't be given second billing on the playoff schedule. The Red Sox and Yankees get enough airtime, do we really need to give them the opening games on Wednesday and Thursday?

And how much do you want to bet that if the games go long they're not going to cut away to the first pitch of the Cubs game?

I really, really, really hate this new arrangement. There was a caller on WGN that proposes that fans during Game Three on Saturday chanting "We hate TBS." I wholeheartedly endorse that cause.

Okay, back to the positivity that is Cubs baseball in October.

You could argue that this is a case of trying to be anti-East coast bias, in a way, though. The game start times are obviously meant to appease the AZ market and the fans who will be going to the game by giving them what would be a prime-time start over there.

If, despite the game being on the west coast, they had set this game for a 7 CT start, it would've, in a sense, been indicative of an eastern (don't want to say east coast, in this case) bias. Games don't normally start at 5 PM over there.

who in Arizona are they trying to appease by having the Sunday game be at 10am Arizona time?

Yea. That's pretty crappy.

Does anyone know where I could get nationwide radio broadcast information about this game? I'm going to be in the car for most of it.

the game tonight (rocks/pads) is on espn radio, so i assume the nlds will be as well. certainly espn radio or westwood one. what i typically do is map out my route, look for the local affiliates, and then program my radio to those channels.

ESPN (radio) claims to have all the games

Think if I take a "TBS Blows" sign with me on Saturday that they'll show me.

reTarded

...Broadcast

...Schedule

They might show this for a couple seconds before anyone in the truck actually reads it.

They have all the games, but not all their affiliates actually carry those games. More of their California affiliates broadcast x games over the radio than they do MLB.

I'll be able to watch every game in its entirety besides missing the first inning or two of game 3 since I'll be at the SIU game.

For those in the marathon, let's just hope for a Cubs sweep so you won't have to miss anything.

Wish I could be there.

I pride myself in being a member of the best fans in baseball. So please understand that TBS doesn't set the start times, it's MLB. Yeah, MLB might consult with TBS but MLB sets the times so if you make a sign dissin' TBS make sure there's also one for MLB. The minute we knew the Cubs would be playing AZ, we should've known we'd be the late game. Philly and Boston will go through the same thing if their games go beyond three games. How about a 10:30 pm start for the Red Sox fans if there's a game four? As much as I love the Cubs they are just an 85 win team. Had they won 92+ games we wouldn't have to be talking about this. Let's just celebrate the fact that we're playing in October. My question is why can't TBS and TNT show games at the same time like FOX and FX had done?

Boo about the weeknight schedule. I'm on Eastern time, which means a 10:00 start. Going to bed after 1:00 A.M. when I need to get up early the next morning = not good. Oh well, I'll just have to take a nap in the afternoon or earlier in the evening (maybe the early games will put me to sleep).

So, yeah, is chicago going to be a mess on sunday or what. I'm totally not looking forward to it. With the marathon having streets shut down and the increase in visitors for the playoff game....it's going to be a MESS.

So cubs, plz sweep so it's not so bad.

Boo. It looks like I'll have to miss games 1, 2, 4, and 5 in their entirety. That SUCKS. A lot.

Quit whatever it is that is forcing you to miss 4 out of 5 Cubs playoff games.

What will take you away from Cubs games @ 7pm on a weekday night in LA?? Those games are right in the wheelhouse for west coast Cub fans.

I think maybe your life deserves a "boo", not the schedule :P 8-)

Get a TiVo and avoid all human contact (or conversation, at least) from the time the game begins to whenever you are able to watch.

This is the best solution.
