Wednesday = Good. Don't have to skip class

Thursday = Meh. I'm going to the Smashing Pumpkins concert but I should get to see the last inning or two.

Saturday = Dumb. I was hoping it would be an afternoon game since I have to work the Mizzou-Nebraska game Saturday night. I have to be in the Press Box by 6 CT so I'll miss most of it unless it's on the TVs in there (very possible)

Sunday = Works for me. Cubs day, Bears (lol) at night

Tuesday = Again works for me, but hopefully it won't be necessary.

The schedule actually works out nicely for me as well. I understand the late game for the Phoenix area. I wouldn't like the game starting at 5 PM if I lived in Phoenix. The home field partially determines the times, which is why AZ will have to see the game at 11 on Sunday (if they are in the Pacific zone). If you don't have cable in the Chicago area, will the games be on regular TV?

Nopers.

Does anyone know where I could get nationwide radio broadcast information about this game? I'm going to be in the car for most of it.

the game tonight (rocks/pads) is on espn radio, so i assume the nlds will be as well. certainly espn radio or westwood one. what i typically do is map out my route, look for the local affiliates, and then program my radio to those channels.

Thanks - I was able to find a listing of ESPN radio affiliates in CA, and the station in SF -- the only affiliate in the Bay Area -- does NOT carry mlb games. It looks like if I want to listen to a game that night, I'm going to have to hope that the Modesto station will miraculously bounce over the mountains.

Bah. I love the weekend times, but I was really hoping they'd get a primtime slot on Wednesday and Thursday. Guess I won't be getting much sleep those nights.

I seriously can't believe they have game 4 scheduled while the marathon is still going on. People heading down for that game from the burbs need to leave at about 5:00 A.M. to make it.

I really don't think MLB cares about a Chicago Marathon. What's more important a yearly marathon or a Cub playoff game.

It's going to be insane for people who are driving in the City that day trying to get to the game because of the marathon. People will definitely care. I'm just glad I live close enough I can walk.

well, frankly, people are morons if they are driving to either the game or the marathon, so they get what they get

Why drive?

It's not just people going to the game or the marathon. It's a city-wide concern for all commuters. It's certainly not anywhere near ideal. It's going to be hell to get around.

I'll be able to watch every game in its entirety besides missing the first inning or two of game 3 since I'll be at the SIU game.

For those in the marathon, let's just hope for a Cubs sweep so you won't have to miss anything.

Im going to need a whole lot of Red Bull for Fri and Sat mornings lol Oh well, I guess its better than missing the games cause they are to early.

[east coast bias rant] These start times are ridiculous. The Cubs have enough of a national presence that they shouldn't be given second billing on the playoff schedule. The Red Sox and Yankees get enough airtime, do we really need to give them the opening games on Wednesday and Thursday?

And how much do you want to bet that if the games go long they're not going to cut away to the first pitch of the Cubs game?

I really, really, really hate this new arrangement. There was a caller on WGN that proposes that fans during Game Three on Saturday chanting "We hate TBS." I wholeheartedly endorse that cause.

Okay, back to the positivity that is Cubs baseball in October.

Gah, I dont know what I'm gonna do. We're starting tailgating at like 12 or 1, and we got a tailgate of about 40 people, including three Cub fan friends from outta town, my parents, and probably about 10 Cub fans total. Not sure if I'm just gonna put it on the radio at the tailgate, or go to a bar. Ugh.

Think if I take a "TBS Blows" sign with me on Saturday that they'll show me.

You could argue that this is a case of trying to be anti-East coast bias, in a way, though. The game start times are obviously meant to appease the AZ market and the fans who will be going to the game by giving them what would be a prime-time start over there.

If, despite the game being on the west coast, they had set this game for a 7 CT start, it would've, in a sense, been indicative of an eastern (don't want to say east coast, in this case) bias. Games don't normally start at 5 PM over there.

Game 4 is going to be brutal (if necessary), noon??? Doesn't MLB respect our need to get wasted between these games?

Yea, that Sunday noon start does suck.

Sweet, the only one that kind of sucks is Sunday morning at 10 am out here but I can get up a little early on Sunday in return for all of you who have to stay up late on Wed and Thurs.

Arizona is the same as the Pacific time zone at this time of the year.
