I still can't believe it. It feels like it did after the NFC Championship. This is actually happening.

Somebody pinch me.

Being in Cincy for the clincher and being a Cubs fan overwhelming that park is beyond amazing.

I joined this board two years ago and ever since then I've been waiting for this exact thread. No sports fans in the world deserve this more than the great people at NSBB.

11 wins to go, my friends. Let's go and get them.

Roast: What was the atmosphere like down there? Was it relatively calm, as in the cops didn't have to do anything drastic, or were people getting too crazy?

The cops were being A-holes. They were pushing us all over the place for seemingly no reason. Nobody was doing anything stupid; just a lot of screaming and yelling and chanting.

They better call in the entire Illinois police force if the Cubs ever win the WS.

They'll burn the city down. It'll be the 2nd Great Chicago Fire.

i swear if the cubs are within a game of winning the WS i'm calling out of work and driving to chicago. it'll be the greatest party in history. hopefully everyone will be so drunk/happy that i can find a stranger who would let me crash on their floor

i don't want to get picky because i'm so happy the cubbies clinched but is anybody else disappointed that the team didn't get to celebrate immediately after the last out of their own game? i understand the circumstances didn't make it possible for that to happen, but for me, one of the most exciting parts of clinching the division is seeing the guys hauling ass out of the dugout and going crazy on the field.

Ugh. Can we modify the title and add "/REALLY HUNGOVER AND USING THIS TOPIC TO TAKE YOUR MIND OFF THE POUNDING HEADACHE"

It was great last night....in the left field bleachers for the Cubs game, then to some Cincy bar (Hofbraus?) where I got in, somehow. Celebrating all night there and on the bus ride back to school.

Now....doesn't feel quite as great. Still pretty damn good not to have to worry about them for a few days though....

I am very much about to call into work and use a sick day. I feel like zombie. A happy zombie, but walking death nonetheless. I didn't drink nearly as much water as I usually do before passing out and now my body is as parched as the Sahara.

i cried when we clinched in 2003, but something broke in me during the last 3 games of the nlcs. this just feels way different.

same...i'm not really sure how to react to something like this.
