God in heaven only knows how bad I want to clinch with a win in Cincy. The years of punishment I have endured listening to those freakin' Cincinnati meatballs...

I'm sure there will be a scattering of hillbilly Cincinnati fans (as usual) but I'm sure the majority will be wearing Cubbie blue (as usual). Reds fans only show up for Opening Day and Bobblehead promotions.

Can't wait for this weekend.

As a hillbilly myself, I can assure you there are no true hillbillies in Cincinnati. That's another reason I hate that place. Somehow they think they are better than people from Kentucky (me). I have tried to explain to them that people from real cities -- big cities -- see them as hillbilly hicks too. That concept is beyond them because to them Cincinnati is the modern day Canaan land.

A hillbilly might hate your team, but he would be nice about it and probably drink some bourbon with you before you left town.

Tryin to find a hotel to be there for Saturday and Sunday... If they clinch by Sat night, though, will probably just use the hotel to sleep off the partying and then drive home.

You'll be using that hotel room to commit suicide. Don't go alone, I'm telling you.

Better to scale on of those smokestacks and do a triple flip off while repeatedly injecting yourself in the eyeballs with massive doses of heroin.

Haha, as someone who's lived in Cincy most of my life, you hit the nail on the head.

Cincy fans sit around and scarf nachos and guzzle beers with their fat families while at the same time making fun of Cubs fans and calling Wrigley a "beer garden". Reds fans are the worst baseball fans there are, IMO. I've had intelligent baseball conversations with fans of all different teams, but somehow Reds fans just consistently are some of the most clueless there are.

You're outnumbered in your own park, now sit down and shut up.

Preach on Brother Vandalay, preach on. I have family members up there who make fun of me as a dumb hillbilly. I am a lawyer. None of them went to college. That's just the way they think.

So, to get back to the topic, I am going to Cincinnati tomorrow and I am going to raise some hell!!

Listen to the Sports radio while you guys are in Cincy this week. The hosts will all complain about the Cubs invading "their park." I've always wanted to call in and tell them they could solve that problem by buying tickets and coming to the game themselves.

The hosts are also convinced that all the fans come from Chicago. now I'm sure many do, but most come from KY, Ohio, Indiana, etc. You don't have to live in Chicago to be a Cubs fan.

I hate this - I'm having a friend visit this weekend and he can't be here until 8ish, killing my hopes of going to the game tomorrow. On top of that, the game being moved to Fox for Saturday kills me going to that and my radio show kills Sunday. So in the event we clinch this weekend I won't be able to catch it.

That Saturday game is Harrang, right? Might not be the best game to go to.

I think it's going to take until the very last game to do this thing -- or we blow it. I don't know what's going to happen in Milwaukee though. But for the Cubs I have exactly ZERO confidence in them, at all.

I think I would almost rather be in some bars at Wrigleyville. It will be interesting to see how many Cub fans will be at Cincy.

Hopefully Mark Cuban will be their too :-)

With the magic number now at 2, it'll be hard for the Brewers to stay alive till Sunday.

I'll leave it at that.

I just don't have confidence we can win a game. Sorry, but this Marlins series beat all the confidence out of me. Will the Crew lose 2? I don't really know.

Look in social for a whole thread about davhern's avatar, people. Don't be satisfied with just that small pic

Just remember that there's no reason to expect the Cubs to continue to play the way they did in the previous 3 games in the next 3 games, especially considering who will be pitching for them in the next 3 days. Theres about 150 other games that tell you that they win more often than they lose, especially the last 90 or so.

I can say with pretty good confidence that they won't end the season on a 6 game losing streak. I'd be extremely surprised if they did. I understand that you're lacking confidence after what happened the last 3 days, but it would be quite a feat (in a negative way), and quite lucky for the Brewers (and hell, they'd STILL need to win all 3 left to take it).

Well, change of plans - my friend's grandfather is now in the hospital, so he may not come this weekend. I'll probably end up going to Cincy tonight. If anyone else will be there PM me for my cell number by about 3:00.

If the Crew gets to the one game playoff, I'm going to go ahead and assume they'd kill us.

Yeah I just cannot believe Lou & the boys couldn't squeeze out even one win against those guys. I understand they're a tougher matchup than their record and all that, but come on.

I hope you're right. I'm trying to pull for these guys but they need to quit pressing, quit looking at what's happening in Milwaukee, and find a way to get a damn win against these teams who are playing for what? Winter ball assignments? A free vacation raffle? Sheesh.

So yeah, I got tickets - paid about 30 bucks including all fees for seats in the outfield terrace (lower LF bleacher area). I'll be there. Hopefully the Brewers fall behind big early tonight.

I'm one of the more "sky is falling" posters on here. 1984 and 2003 scared my for life! I was worried until last night. I'm confident we close this puppy out either tonight or tomorrow. Brewers lost their chance to make a run at it. This thing is over.

Is it normal for a ballpark to turn off the out-of-town scoreboard two minutes after the final out is made in a game? Or were they just trying their best to get rid of us Cubs fans?

I'm not sure if that's normal, but the Reds always seem really bitter about all the Cubs fans there. And I couldn't see the out of town board from my seats, it was killing me.

You should have seen the bitter old usher trying to keep fans away from the Cubs dugout after the game. Thought he was gonna pop a coronary.

Me neither. What section were you in?

The two guys between us and the dugout were younger and pretty cool about it. Then some old guy came up and told them to clear the section out. The old guy was being a real tool about it. The younger guys were kinda rolling their eyes at him when he wasn't looking straight at them. I think it was pretty clear that the Reds management wanted to do everything they could to chill any celebration.
