I'm not sure what you're expecting to accomplish here. They're not going to change the network it's on just because you don't get it.

Maybe none of you remember but a few years back with the Cubs in contention WGN pulled one of the games off of WCIU due to popular demand late in the season. Tribune owns both stations and could make the decision to do it. Flame away but I want to see the game on my TV.

I just wish WGN would get the Cubs game, especially on the areas where the Cubs have the potentional to clinch the NL Central.

at least with the WCIU game last week, it was blacked out on both ESPN and mlb.tv for me in central IL. Therfore, since I didn't have WCIU, I was out of luck. It was frustrating to be sure.

The Cubs can't clinch Tuesday.

Magic Number-4

Monday-We don't Play. Brewers Lose-Magic number 3

Tuesday-Cubs Win and Brewers Lose-Magic number 1

Relax everyone.

I sent my message off. I will be able to get the U, but if it is possible to get other Cub fans the chance to watch them the last week of the season, when things actually count, then I believe it is worht a chance.

What I'd be more interested in is having the games later in the week shifted from CSN to WGN, to ensure that the clincher is televised on WGN. I do get Extra Innings, but those telecasts may be the home team's broadcast. And even if it is the Cubs' broadcast the postgame celebration coverage probably won't be on EI. The best that can happen on Tuesday is to clinch a tie.

That one definitely can't happen. WGN and WCIU are sister stations. WGN and CSN aren't. CSN would never give up the broadcasting rights.

MLB.TV FTW.

I love in Bloomington, Indiana... we dont get WCIU but because I live in the cubs "market" the game is blacked out on mlb.tv. it's a lose-lose for people like me.

Luckily I get Fox Sports FL or whatever its called cause I live in the region so I can get any of the 3 games against the Marlins, only I have no idea how brutal the broadcast will be. I wish that XM would broadcast the last 6 games by the Cubs announcers instead of the home team like they always do.

Can anyone give me the Cliffs Notes version of why there are always a few Cub games on WCIU every season?

I can't imagine why Tribune would do this on purpose...it seems counter-intuitive, [expletive], and a money-losing proposition...in other words, it looks like something that MLB would mandate.

I wonder if they could come up with an arrangement where WGN could simulcast the game nationwide on the superstation feed but not the local feed that would cut into CSN's territory.

Well as many of us figured the email didnt work. Here is what I got from WGN.

Kevin:

Unfortunately, as our website http://www.SuperstationWGN.com states, we're

unable to do so since WCIU carries eight Cubs games per season and this

is one of them. Your comments will be forwarded to our management.

Thanks for writing and watching.

George

Guess Ill be listening to this damn game on the radio.

In theory, one could use a proxy server to circumvent this.
