What a great day. A Cubs win, Brewers lose, and Michigan once again beats Penn State. I think it's time to go out and get drunk.

Throw in a Notre Dame loss and we have perfection.

Thank you Braves - hitting a game-typing HR down to your last out, wow:

Looks like the Braves win prob. was less than 10% in the bottom 9th.

Awesome.

I wanna see a chart like that that shows the Cubs' chances at the post season. But only if they make it.

That was beautiful. And the Cub fans at the game was nice too. I'd like to see more than a few Cub jerseys in the stands at Miller Park on Monday.

Firing up Steve Goodman on the itunes...for the second time today!

Silver lining for the Brewers is, that botched DP didn't really cost them anything. 3-2 or 5-2, either way it equals 2.5 :D

It was a walk-off single, not a walkoff homer.

And it was 4-3 :)

Awesome.

you would tend to lose over 90% of games where you're down by a run with 9 outs in the last inning

All these "stats" and "facts" of yours don't interest me, and they ruined what is otherwise a perfectly good point. Jerk :)

I love it. Scott Thorman was up at bat with one thing on his mind, and all Cordero had to do was keep it away from him.

Then Miller pops up when every one knew he had to take at least two strikes.

Weeks boots a sure dp ball.

The Brewers have no one to blame but themselves.

There ya go.

It's not like the Cubs deserve to win the division. Sad thing is, they didn't Earn it, they have had more lucky breaks then any team in recent memory. I am fully confident this has PO'd the baseball gods, and they will pay for it in the playoffs, and it will be absolutely the most beautiful thing in the world. Go ahead, make the playoffs Cubs. A lot of good it will do you when you lose the first series and get to go home with everyone else anyway. Was it really worth it Cubs fans??

Is he serious? What luck! We haven't won squat in almost 100 years! Gimme a flippin' break!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't let it bother you. That's just frustration. Their team save for their hot start hasn't done squat.

Yeah, there is some of that over there. Actually it seems to be the same guy.

But I will remember his words when we win the division next year as well.

To be totally honest, I'm more optimistic about 2008 than I am about 2007.

Actually, this Brewers team will only get better. They need another ace because Sheets will never be healthy.

Exactly. We'd be saying the same crap if things were flipped around. The Brewers started the year and looked like they were going to go to the playoffs for the first time in a long time. Can't really blame fans for getting upset and frustrated about losing a big lead in the division and not being able to capitalize in this crappy division.

But they do have a bright future. They are going to be a handful in the coming years.

Yep. If they can find some better pitching next year they could be really good. They've got a bunch of young guys who have talent and are only going to get better.

Not much. You can't understate just how good Fielder and Braun have been. It's hard to see them being much better. Fielder will probably be as good, but Braun is probably going to regress at least a little bit.

Having a full season of Gallardo will be a big boost, and perhaps Parra.

But I don't see their offense getting much better.

I just think the Cubs underperfomed this year. Only in September have we seen what was expected out of the offense all year.

It's going to be a tight one in 2008, but I see both teams winning 90+ instead of the low to mid-80's.

Yeah, that guy keeps spewing the same garbage. It's silly and not true. The Cubs have been the most consistent team in the NL since June 3. In fact, only the Yankees have won more games in all of MLB since that time.

THIS IS ON THE RECORD

The Cubs own the best record in the National League during the last 109 days starting June 3 with a 59-42 mark…Philadelphia is the next closest N.L. team in that span.

BEST RECORD IN MAJORS, STARTING JUNE 3

Team Rec. Pct.

1. Yankees 65-35 .650

2. CUBS 59-42 .584

2. Angels 56-41 .577

4. Indians 57-42 .576

Phillies57-42.576

After today's win the mark is up to 60-42 (.588)
