it's gonna suck so bad when the Brewers win the World Series this year

I've always kinda had a soft spot in my heart for the Brewers (Not their fan base of course), they always seemed like even harder luck losers than the Cubs, and no one watched them. Their fans are a bunch of annoying whiners, and to top it off, most of them are Packers fans too. (Nothing against you Cubs fans that also root for the Packers, but thats a deadly combination right there)

Their team this year pisses me off. But boy do I love those throwback uniforms.

I wouldn't be terribly upset if they won the World Series, not nearly as much as those damned Redbirds.

Not me. I seriously hate every single one of our opponents in the Central. No soft spot here...

How long have the Brewers even been a division rival? If anything, Sox fans should dislike them more than anyone else.

What does that matter? They are in the central - they are the enemy.

Anyone know how the blackout restrictions work for WCIU games? Is it the same as WGN games? (aka, will I be able to watch the game in Iowa or am I going to have to start sending letter bombs to the commissioners office?)

I don't know for sure but since WCIU is basically only for Chicago Area Cable, the ESPN telecast should still be available.

i lived in Racine back in 1982 when the Brewers went to the series. they were my first favorite team. that year also started my hate for the Cardinals

Are you serious? Pirates are throwing 3 lefties at us?? Brewers get to face 3 rookies? Whats goin on here? Everyone is targeting us..

The Braves will give them trouble this weekend. As I said we'll have a 2 game lead by Monday.

I don't know, the Cardinals, Astros, Mets and White Sox are really the only teams that I actively root against if they end up having a shot. The other teams, even those in the Central, I don't really have anything against outside of wanting the Cubs to beat them. I look at the Reds and Pirates as some classic "legacy" teams with their long history without any real reason to "hate" them. They've never struck me as being real bitter rivals a la the Cards or White Sox. The Astros, however, just piss me off, and I'm not even sure why.

On deck: Ted Lilly will start the series finale Wednesday against Tom Shearn and the Reds, pitching on short rest. First pitch will be 7:05 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on WGN.

From Cubs' game notes. But on cubs.com's front page, it says WCIU.

10 games left guys! Buckle down...This is going to be a bumpy ride!!!!

I see it going this way. We win the game today...

1/3 in Pitt

2/3 in Florida

2/3 in Cincy

6-4. That leaves us with 85 wins.

Brewers will win today...

2/4 from Braves

2/3 from Cards

2/4 from Pads.

That leaves them with 7-3 and a 85 wins.

Wow! Can you imagine?

In one day Cubs nation feels that the Brewers will dominate the Braves, Cards, and Padres and we have no chance vs. the Reds, Marlins, and Pirates.

Ben Sheets may miss his next start,,,We are in fine shape.

He may miss a lot more tha that, and dont forget that we face the Pirates this weekend and most likely miss Gorzelanny and Snell.

UMFan83 has Zambrano facing Gorzelanny this weekend in his "Probable Starters" thread

cubs.com also has Gorzelanny going on Sunday.

Not only that but the unstoppable Zach Duke on Saturday. Career 4.20 ERA, but a 1.57 career ERA in 7 starts against the Cubs

:?:

cubs.com and espn.com both have John Van Benschoten starting Saturday's game for the Pirates.

The Pirates have announced that they are going to start Duke on Saturday so they can have 3 left-handers going against the Cubs.

The Astro's pull Oswalt and Williams for rookies and Pirates are gunning for us, reworking their rotation so that we see 3 lefties. Who'd we piss off?

Its called stop making excuses and start hitting lefties.

I agree, time to shed the Dusty Conspiracy theory/feel sorry for yourself attitude and take care of business.

It's not that I hate the Brewers, but it'd be icing on the crapcake to have 4 of the 5 biggest rivals of the Cubs make the Series inside of a 4 year period, with one of them doing it twice.

(I would've said top 4 rivals, but some Cubs fans, not I but some, rank the Mets higher than the Brewers.)

They'll win tonight. I don't get why anyone would panic over last night, unless it repeats itself tonight and perhaps tomorrow.

BTW, the title of this thread is dumb. Just sayin'.

we play home against the pirates

this is how I see it

We win today

2/3 vs Pitt

3/3 at Fla (honestly believe we will sweep them) this will be a home game for us I bet the fans there will be 80% cub fans, as seeing that game vs Nats only had 400 fans

2/3 at Cincy

Putting as at 87 wins

Cards are sweeping the Brew, and I don't really know how or why.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. For whatever reason they have the Brewers number this year.

Can't happen as we have an uneven number of games from now until Monday

Cards are sweeping the Brew, and I don't really know how or why.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. For whatever reason they have the Brewers number this year.

That's going to feel so very, very dirty rooting for the Cardinals.

Just keep reminding yourself why you're doing it. That might keep you sane.

So this means if we beat the Reds tonight, they'll be mathematically eliminated. Correct?
