Cubs.com was once again speculating that this was Trachsel's last start of the season before today's game.

From looking at the schedule and the fact that Lou is already skipping Trachsel's next start, at most he will get 1 more, and I think there is a pretty good chance that he won't get that one.

I think Trachsel would be good in mop up duty in a blowout just to save the bullpen, but he shouldn't be in critical game situations any more in 2007.

great job cubs, now please never let trachsel pitch again unless it's as a long reliever in a 15-2 game

That's pretty much his last start.

this is the cubs, they're incompetent... i won't believe that it's his last start until the season is over and he hasn't started another game

See my thread in Baseball Discussions, it'll be therapeutic.

You gotta tip your cap to Hendry for Marquis, Lilly, and Ward. All have done better then I thought they would.

I'm not tipping my cap to Hendry for anything, and I pray he's not allowed anywhere near this team next year.

We're only in first place because the other five teams in this division have so far sucked worse than we have.

I'm just saying those were solid pickups this year.

You know what's both funny and not funny.

Look up Woody Williams' career stats on baseballreference.com and note that the only years he was good were with the pixie dust Cardinals.

Man do I HATE HATE HATE the cards.

You can say that for just about every player that puts on that damn uniform.

There's a whole thread in Baseball Discussions filled with examples if you want to do some digging.

Now that's what I'm talking about, SUPPOSED to beat this team. 2 out of 3 in this series, I'm proud.

Now, let's deliever the TKO on the Cardinals.

I know, I created it

I just wanted to reiterate my disbelief as to how freakin lucky the Cards are.

Piniella does seem to have half a brain. I just hope he isn't seduced by this game into giving Trachsel more starts.

And is there any official word on Marshall?

was he hurt?

No, but there was some concern from Lou and Hendry that Marshall - who is pitching more than he's ever pitched and showed signs of breaking down around this time last year - needed a break. That's why they acquired Trachsel.

I'm happy for the win but there's no excuse to allow Marmol to pitch in this game, let alone for 2 innings. I'm scared his time with us will be short.

I didn't mind the one inning, but no reason the the 2nd inning.

He had rest, he's fine.

Everyone needs to stop panicking about marmol. He might be used often, but his pitch counts haven't been exorbitant.
