I don't have a problem with Marmol pitching the 9th. He was off yesterday.

 

after throwing 2 innings the day before. we've got a 4-run lead in the 9th and an important series this weekend. this is stupid. using him for 2 innings.

 

I care more about the number of pitches, not the innings.

 

He threw 25 pitches in those two innings, thats pretty good.

 

I guess there has to be complaints about something, but Marmol has had regular rest, despite the number of appearences.

Cubs.com was once again speculating that this was Trachsel's last start of the season before today's game.

 

From looking at the schedule and the fact that Lou is already skipping Trachsel's next start, at most he will get 1 more, and I think there is a pretty good chance that he won't get that one.
