Hey look another guy who isn't a big leaguer on the mound. Can someone let the Cubs know they are tied for first place. Edited by illiniguy

I'll repeat what I said on Thursday:

This team is done. They are not going to the playoffs.

The sooner you guys come to that realization, the happier you'll be.

In that case, you have no purpose being here

Yeah, because the only purpose of this board is for commentary when the Cubs are playing well.

Right now, the 3 main hitters have done well over the last 2 weeks. Lee, Soriano, and Ramirez combined have an OPS well over .900. Derosa hasn't hit for pop lately but done well at getting on.

Right now, the dead spots are Theriot, Jones, and Kendall as well as Monroe.

Floyd has been ok, Murton has been hot the last 2 weeks.

I could have told you that. The only way that they make the playoffs is if they randomly get hot like they did in June. But even then, it would only be a mirage as this team just isn't that good.

No team in the central is good though and any team no matter how good or bad they are can get hot over 20 games. The division is still up for grabs.

That team looks to be the Brewers

If they do that's going to give them confidence to really be a dangerous team for years to come. They can flat out rake.

Yup and considering that state the Cubs franchise will be in this offseason, this might be the first year since 2002 where I have no hope of competing before the season starts.

If they get rid of Hendry I have a better feeling going in than I have since '04.

This is really pissing me off. Lou is basically conceding a loss in the 4th GD inning. Hey Lou, we're tied for first place and the team we're tied with is on their way to a victory. DON'T PUT THE SCRUB PITCHERS IN!

I like Kendall, but he sure does have a noodle arm.

Soto should be playing more than Kendall is. He's become too much of a liability defensively.

Why should Soto play? He is only better at every part of baseball.

I love how these no-name kids are running circles around us.
Can you imagine being named Nyjer?

Unfortunately I don't think there's any hope of Hendry being gone before '08, at least not until the ownership situation is settled.

Edwin Encarnacion hits a 3 run homer

8-5 MIL

I was watching the first couple innings and Sheets was getting hit pretty hard. The Reds had a couple warning track shots and one really nice running catch in center. With the Milwaukee bullpen, I guess no lead is ever safe, so maybe we do still have a chance of holding on to a first place tie.

Good lord, if so Hendry is a cat. He has torpedoed this franchise.

Where is Sean Marshall and why is he not pitching?

hurt and because he is hurt

He's hurt? Since when? What happened?

He's just assuming/guessing because Marshall hasn't played in weeks.
