Lou Holtz is a ND homer, that's not exactly surprising. Beano Cook would probably pick Pitt to beat USC.

In other news, I've never, ever seen downtown as nuts as it was tonight. We took a drive through on the way to drop a friend off after our trip to pittsburgh. A Chinese restaurant with a tiny bar area (about 4 people can fit there) had a line at 1:50 AM. Ohio State 2005 was crazy, and Arts Fest - a summer thing where some people come to look at art and everyone else comes to get drunk - is always nuts, but tonight was another level. I figure about 250,000 people will be in State College at around kickoff time tomorrow evening. That's about 3 times the normal population. There isn't a hotel room available within 75 miles.

Pretty much. I couldn't fall asleep last night from all the noise outside. This weekend is just insane.

the line for Cafe 210 West was a block long starting at noon.

Oh, and FTH was it 83 degrees at 10:30 last night? That sucked

As much as I like making fun of the place it's a great place to go for a game. This game is a swing game for ND and Penn State, if PSU takes it they ae on their way to solidifying their season and knocking ND out of any BCS contention while ND needs this win badly to stay in the BCS hunt with USC still looming in their schedule.

Don't worry about ND and BCS contention. ND will be lucky to get to a bowl game at all. ND just has to find a way to win 3-4 of their first 8. If it's this game, that's great (although I doubt it). Mostly, just get Claussen some experience and hopefully they can win games like Purdue and Michigan State, which both will be hard games but they are more winnable than at Penn State this year.

I hope they don't win 6 games or more because they steal a bowl from a Big East team if they do. I can't wait for that contract to be over.

I fully expect and anticipate that they will.

How's Greg Robinson working out for you up their?

Marshall taking the easy points instead of taking a few shots at the endzone. If your a big underdog at home I think you have to be a little more aggresive than that. You got a #3 team on the ropes, and one that could score a lot of points very fast. I know nothing on Marshall's defense, but he must have some confidence in them.

I don't like his coaching ability what so ever. I don't think he adjusts well, actually I think he's horrible at making adjustments and he better start recruiting better to hide his lack of coaching. I really think he's overwhelmed and the next hire better have experience as a head coach. This, he's the next USC coach thing just doesn't fly. I want results.

He's a great defensive cord., but I was never sure about head coach. He just doesn't have the look that the elite have, and I am not really sure about his recruiting abilities.

Marshall 13 WVU 6 at half

Akron 2 Ohio State 0 6 minutes left 1st quarter, Akron ball :D

If that actually happen words could never describe how happy I would be. Not even the Cubs could ruin my day no matter how much they try.

His run defense has been giving up tons of yards so I haven't seen that great or even average defense yet.

Rutgers is now getting all the Jersey and Florida kids we used to get and the area kids are still leaving. I'm sick of winning recruiting battles with Northeastern or Hofstra and not even being mentioned by any 4 or 5 star kids.

Maybe you can fire him and bring back Major Applewhite, imo he is going to be one of the next greats. Of course and the one to replace Mack Brown some day.

Applewhite was a very good recruiter and I doubt he'll ever come here as head coach. He was either lost or battled with the OC coach when he was here and it was a big mess. Again, I really think Robinson was/is overwhelmed and that led to the debacle that is our offense.
