From Fox Sports:

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Former major league All-Star Jose Offerman was suspended indefinitely Wednesday, a day after he went wild in the minors and hit the opposing pitcher and catcher with his bat.

Offerman was charged with two counts of second-degree assault — the catcher sustained a concussion and the pitcher had a broken finger. Offerman posted $10,000 bond and was due in Bridgeport Superior Court on Aug. 23.

Both Beech and Bluefish catcher John Nathans were injured by Offerman, who was struck by a pitch and rushed the mound. Offerman was later arrested. A source said he was charged with second-degree assault and faces a $10,000 bond.

I like how you can see the firstbaseman's glove falling to the ground in the background of the photo, but the firstbaseman isn't anywhere in the picture.

Given that he probably wouldn't be totally blocked by Offerman or the pitcher, I'm guessing there was no one on first and he was playing behind the bag so if the picture extended to the left youd see him charging in. Hard to tell, but looks like a righties first base mit so it'd be on his left hand so it makes sense that if you are looking at the picture he'd be to the left of it.

Jesus, what a psycho.

If any team actually allows him to put their uniform on again, whether it be pro or independent ball, they should be thrown out of the league.

Not a video, but wow

Kudos to the catcher.

definitely.

there are a couple photos there (just as he's swinging the bat) where you can see the first base coach... he stands there, hardly changing posture at all, seemingly just watching. the frame rate is probably not fair to his reaction, but it was still kinda funny to see.

Carl Everett, Offerman's teamate, was the one who took the bat out of his hands

Are you serious? Seriously, you know someone has lost it when crazy Carl Everett is the voice of reason.

And anyone notice that none of the Bluefish beside the catcher charged in to defend their teammate? There are way more black uniforms on the field than white ones. Someone (corner infielders?) should have taken out his legs.
