He has 757 now. He is on pace to hit about 7 more this year putting him at 764-765 by the end of this year.

Over the past 5 seasons (excluding his very shortened injury season) he is averaging 37 per year.

I do not expect him to hit him to hit 37 next year, maybe around 25. Thus being said it would likely take him 2 season to reach 800.

His health may be deteriorating but we all know Barroids is greedy and only cares about himself. The question is.... Will Barroids put his pride in front of his health and go for 800?

I dont think the Giants want him back. I may be wrong. So it may be up to another team to let him get it. I am not sure there would be a lot of teams looking for his services.

I've got a feeling he's been "blackballed" outside of SF already. The environment comparing SF to the rest of the league is night and day -- SF has put up with him because of the fan support, but I highly doubt another team would even consider him.

I hope this is the case, would be nice for it to be IMPOSSIBLE for him to hit 800, so A Rod can be first of course :)

I can think of one power-challenged team that could sure use him for the rest of this year.

i bet barry retires after the season

I'll bet he tries real hard to find a new team in the offseason, but won't. And we'll only hear that he decided to retire a long time ago, knowing nothing of his attempt to stay in the game.

i don't think barry finding a team will be a problem. i'm more talking about a federal indictment and the overall stress he probably already goes through causing him to walk away.

some team would pony up for bonds though.

his .495 OBP wouldn't hurt matters either.

I'll bet he wants to get 3000 hits and shoot for 800. If he settles for a role as DH, no problem.

What team would want to pay to have that cancer in the clubhouse?

If the Cubs got him this year it would be awesome.

it would mean less PT for Murton . . .

It would alos mean a better team, I'll take it.

just kidding you. It certainly would be better for the team. It won't happen, though.
