For some good news about Cubs baseball, this morning I scored tickets in the front row behind home plate for the series opener in San Francisco.

btw.... what day is it I'm supposed to meet you in SF ??

You didn't sound too optimistic about making it out here. As of about nine hours ago, there were actually two more seats available in the same row. Two more guys were supposed to make the trip with me that day, but the price tag scared them off.

What the crap, Floyd? This is what, the first time tonight you've had a plate appearance in a completely pointless situation? Get the hell off the team.

Sweet Jebus that was pathetic. All of a sudden, I'm really glad I can't make it to Colorado for this series.

Quick, someone get the next game thread up.

Let's hope we leave the crap play in steaming Houston and right the ship in the high altitude of Colorado. The good news is that the Brewers suck right along with us this week and we're still 1 measly game out.

Gotta feel sorry for Vance.... making the trip all the way to Houston, then having to endure this crap !!! Worse than the Texas trip !!

With a record like that this season, it's about time his mother grounded him.

The strange thing about this game is that if you looked at the box score, you would have thought the Cubs would have scored a lot of runs

Theriot: 3 for 5

Jones: 2 for 4, 2B, BB

Lee: 0 for 3, 2 BB

Floyd: 1 for 4, 1 BB

DeRosa: 2 for 5, 1 2B

Fontenot: 1 for 5

Murton: 2 for 4

Hill: 1 for 3, 1 BB

So of the 8 positional players, every single player got on base at least once. 7 of the 8 players got on at least twice (everybody except Fontenot), and Theriot and Jones got on 3 times each.

To have 17 baserunners and only manage 2 runs is very, very hard to do. It takes bad power and very bad luck on when hits are distributed, and the Cubs had both tonight.

I haven't seen JimSorgi in a while and he's on que for the next one? Since I'm on deck should I start the next one or should we wait?

Jim Sorgi has til midnight CT. Then, it'd be superb if someone could spot start.

Cliff Floyd wasn't even running in RF tonight. Time for a Murton/Pie/Jones outfield. Seriously, I was incensed on that triple watching him just trudge along as it flew a few feet over his head where anyone who had the use of their legs could make the play.

I really hope we didn't bring up E-Patt to rot on the bench.
