If this horrible excuse for a baseball game wasn't a wakeup call to Hendry, then he's not waking up. It's as simple as that. This team won't go anywhere without at least another bat and probably another arm.

Our pen is fine.

Marmol is lights out

Howry has been great after a terrible start

Wuertz is ok

Dempster was great until the injury and should be able to find it

Woody if yesterday was any indication will be fine.

We need offense and we need it badly.

ok ok ok

quick question

who is in charge or calling up and sending down...Piniella or hendry?

Hendry officially, I believe.

ok ok ok

well...i have always had a lingering distaste for hendry...so...nothing new, it just continues to grow in nastiness...

however

i have held my tongue about Piniella until recently...

i think he is kind of not quite sure how to play the proper players in the proper positions on this team

on both sides of the ball

now i am just mad

i hate sitting around and watching fools fumble around and mess things up

Can't really blame the Cubs' pitchers, since they only gave up 2 runs on 4 hits tonight. Our offense is just sad.

Well at least "Alfonso Soriano" is going to be banned.

Really?

He dropped the F bomb

After being warned not to yesterday.

Where did I drop the F bomb?

you said "F*** YOU FLOYD"

I think I seen it as soon as the passed ball..Then I refresehd and it was gone

Something along those lines was posted on page 51. I assumed a mod deleted it, maybe he did.

Uhh yeah I edited it out the moment I said it.

Either way, I'm not sure that you add anything of value to the site at any time. That should warrant a ban. Okay, maybe not.

Marmol, Wood, and Howry are solid I agree

You are completely forgetting the lefties - Eyre has been decent lately while Ohman can't get anyone out. Wuertz and Dempster walk way too many guys to be successful. The pen lost us Friday's game and tonight's game as well as the momentum on Sunday.

You still no that violates board policy, especially since you were warned yesterday.

Go easy on him, Soccer-Momzillas. It's only a mistake if you don't fix it.

Why doesn't the offense get any blame?

How did the pen lose it tonight? If you score 1 run in 10 innings, chances are you are going to lose. We could've played 10 more innings and not score a run.

Facing more bad pitching tomorrow I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Cubs score two runs before the 9th inning.

And maybe we'll learn the answer to what'll happen first a Cub HR or a Cub catcher throwing out a base runner. I'm leaning strongly towards the latter.

Fair enough, the offensive is a problem as well, as I stated in my original post. A good team has to keep the game tied or close in tight situations though. The pen hasn't done that.

I fear that question may linger into 2008.

This reasoning causes you to tell you girlfriend she can just get an abortion.

The offense deserves ALL of the blame. You hold the opposition to 4 hits in 10 innings and you still lose. There's something wrong with that. And it's not like this offense just had one bad game after a string of good games. This offense has been bad for the good majority of the 2nd half. It's just maddening when you know you don't have any HR threats and when you can't hit Wandy Rodriguez.

If we don't HR in this craphole of a ballpark, we'll be lucky to get to 100 HR's on the season.
