Wow, props to the Cubs pitching tonight. Only three hits in 9 innings. Let's hope Wuertz can continue the trend!

I was indifferent to the Cliff Floyd signing, but I expected a LOT more than this out of him. He has always been a good hitter when reasonably healthy, and this year he has been reasonably healthy, so what happened?

I was against the signing only because I pretty much knew it was going to cost Murton a lot of playing time. Maybe not this much, but still. People said it wouldn't, but I saw this coming a mile away. I also would've expected more production from Floyd; he hasn't been good.

Murton and Floyd have both been disappointments IMO. More the reason to go get someone at the deadline. Hendry can be so frustrating.

That's the Wuertz I know!

nice Michael.

try something a little different every now and then.

hey Cubs. watch and learn at the feet of the immortal Ty Winnington. if you don't make contact the first two times, odds are it wasn't a strike and you won't make contact the third time.

Floyd looked bad on that at bat, but reading some of these responses is hilarious.

Would love to either see people tell these things to Floyd's face or actually step in against lidge.

Is funny though.

Oh it's the old "if you couldn't hit Lidge yourself then you can't complain" argument.

it sucked the first 93 times when oldcubsfan did it.

Fielder and Braun have gone deep tonight...

Fielder and Braun have a combined 52 HR.

To get to 53 HR for the Cubs you need to combine Soriano, Ramirez, Lee, and DeRosa.

The Cubs and Brewers both have 52 losses... The problem with the Brewers is that over 46% of their offense is homerun dependent.

How's that a problem?

It's a problem because they aren't able to score enough runs, on most days, to win when they don't hit homers. It's not a well rounded offense.

The way some people are talking, the Brewers should have fewer loses and more wins. They've out homered the Cubs by 64 (and two players combine for 52).

I think what you are failing to grasp is that each HR equals at least 1 run. Being "well rounded" is a non-sequiter as is the number of losses each team has. Give me a team of HR hitters any day.

The 64 more homers they've hit haven't given them much of an advantage in the standings.

neither has the 58 less runs we've given up.

please quit or find a better argument.

No, thats not it at all. I think there is a line between being critical, and being obnoxious.

Being critical is fine, insulting is childish.

thats all.
