Fielder and Braun have gone deep tonight...

Fielder and Braun have a combined 52 HR.

To get to 53 HR for the Cubs you need to combine Soriano, Ramirez, Lee, and DeRosa.

The Cubs and Brewers both have 52 losses... The problem with the Brewers is that over 46% of their offense is homerun dependent.

home runs are a statistic largely devoid of luck. hitting w/risp isn't.

That's fine but when a team (like the Brewers) can't score many runs without the benefit of homeruns it isn't an advantage. As I said, both teams have 52 losses yet, the Brewers have hit 152 homeruns to the Cubs 88.

and the brewers have scored a significant amount more runs than the cubs have, what's your point?

Yes, but obviously it doesn't tell the real story of their offense because they have the same number of losses as the Cubs and have played 2 more games (thus they have 2 more wins). It's obvious that they have had more lopsided victories but a win is a win (whether by 10 runs or 1 run).

once again, you've completely forgotten about pitching.

Whew.

Let's win it in 10, boys.

You don't think Kendall is going to hit a walkoff home run?

:?:

Sorry, not a walkoff, a go-ahead home run.

still, what does that have to do with not winning it in 10?

KENDALL IS ON

Epatt bunt?

wish we had a speedy guy on the bench to pinch run here. but no, Lou needed to waste the bench instead of bringing Fontenot into the game after ph'ing.

edit-forgot it was Cedeno at second, but I still don't agree with how he's used the bench this game.

Because if Kendall would have hit a home run the Cubs could try to win it in 9.

I'll take the 0.15 runs more a game they score.

It's obvious that they've needed them because their pitching staff isn't as good as the Cubs'. I'm not saying I wouldn't want the Cubs to hit more homers I just think using the Brewers as an example for so called Cubs deficiencies is silly. The both have 52 losses and the Cubs have played 2 fewer games.
