Did Dave Kaplan just say "came to blows in the clubhouse" referring to Milwaukee?

I missed the names but swear I heard this. Anyone hear?

Edit: If I misheard, feel free to lock.

Yep.

Yost and Estrada got into a heated argument in the corridor leading to the clubhouse.

It was going to get physical and Graffanino had to break it up.

Ugghh...you never like to see players going after managers. Except if it's the other team. Go get him Johnny!

Yeah, this is a real turning point for them. One of three things could happen:

1. Yost loses the team but isn't fired, the Crew collapses.

2. He goes off on a tirade, and they get as hot as we were, which we can weather and overcome.

3. Yost gets fired, and the spririt of Harvey's Wallbangers guides them to the World Series to be swept by Cleveland.

One is what we want. Three would suck.

Brewers have altercation in dugout

Emotions boiled over in the Brewers dugout today when a New York Mets television broadcast showed an altercation, apparently between manager Ned Yost and catcher Johnny Estrada.

SNY, which broadcasts the Mets' games back to New York, showed players and coaches restraining Estrada and Yost, who were pointing fingers and screaming at each other. Former Mets pitcher Ron Darling, an analyst on the broadcast, said their cameras showed pitcher Ben Sheets and pitching coach Mike Maddux were among those separating Estrada and Yost.

Darling said Yost also called Estrada over a few minutes later and spoke with him in private.

The altercation took place after the Mets scored three runs in the top of the seventh off reliever Carlos Villanueva. Estrada was the catcher and remained in the game, collecting a double in the eighth inning.

The three-run rally gave the Mets a 8-3 lead over the Brewers, who entered the game with nine losses in 13 games. The Brewers began the day a percentage point behind Chicago in the NL Central after holding first place for 102 days.

Karl Ravach predicted the Cubs would have the biggest lead in the NL come the end of August of any division leader. These are the potential cracks that could lead to that prediction :-).

Really? When did he make that prediction?

Last night in their segment where each of them pulls a random unlikely event out of their you-know-what and says it for shock value. As they said last night, they were 0 for 3 on predictions the month before. I don't remember Kruk's prediction, but be assured it's about as likely as A-Rod borrowing 75 cents for a can of soda.

I posted this in the Braun thread in Rivalries, but it probably belongs here instead...

Bill Michaels just said on WTMJ that one of the players told him "We aren't waiting for Ned Yost, we are going to have to win this thing ourselves". I guess that statement could be interpreted in a number of ways. but it was interesting.

LOL...now the guys on Brewerfan.net are claiming that Estrada is a clubhouse cancer...sounds like they're practically recreating the Barrett thing step by step.

I hope this doesn't have the same effect Lou's tirade/Barrett's fight had on us.

Better damn well not.

I am not disputing that Barrett/Lou's tirade effected the Cubs, but every Cub player I heard interviewed said those two things had nothing to do with it. Or maybe they just don't want to admit it because they are professional athletes who can do it themselves.

Said center fielder Bill Hall: "I'm sure that nine out of 10 people are going to say that this is the same thing that happened to the Cubs. It's not about that."

Hall was referring to a June 1 incident at Wrigley Field between Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano and catcher Michael Barrett, the latter of whom eventually was traded. Since that day, the Cubs are 35-20, and on Wednesday, they moved percentage points ahead of the Brewers in the division.

"Every time we turn around, we're getting a question about the Cubs or how we're feeling," Hall said. "Every time we turn on the TV, it's how well the Cubs are playing. We want to go out and win. It's all about winning ballgames. Whether the Cubs are on us or not, there would still be frustration. It's something you have to learn how to control."

Sounds to me like the Cubs are starting to get into the Brewers heads.
