The big pitcher for me today is Kerry Wood. This will be his first back-to-back outing in his rehab stint. He's pitching against Low-A competition so whether he gets people out isn't really the point. It's more how he feels going two days in a row, how his velocity holds up and, most importantly, how he feels the next day.

Go Kerry!

I'm going to keep pretending that I'm ignoring the Kerry Wood situation.

I'm looking forward to Iowa's outing tonight. Let's see if Soto can climb to the top of every offensive statistical category in the PCL after tonight. Then MAYBE Hendry will take a look at him. Another one @ 9 PM.

But we do face RHP Mike Esposito and his 5.50 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. Both good for 2nd on the team (Out of 6 pitchers with 7+ starts for the Sky Sox). Oh how I love games played in Colorado. His ERA is 3.25 in road games, 7.65 at home.

Hernandez, woot!

Robert was never on for today....Saturday is his day...today is Wood & Papelbon...Sunday is PIna...

Was Wood in the mid 90's again today?

1 perfect inning, 1 K for Kerry Wood. :D

excellent. can we get any more of a detailed analysis?

Cubs.com says:

Wood, who threw 12 pitches . . . This was his first back-to-back test . . . The radar gun at O'Brien Field registered his fastball between 92-94 mph.

The Cubs were expected to determine the next phase of Wood's rehab after they see how the right-hander feels on Saturday.

So when I put him down for tomorrow, I'll finally be correct? I think I've listed him like 2 days in row and been wrong each time.

Shark had 6 K's in 4.2 innings.... to bad he gave up 12 hits and 6ER's to go along with it.

I'm glad we gave him all that money. He's turned out to be a great deal for us. :x

wow - good for Kyle! Didn't see the promotion to TN happening this year, but am glad to see he's adjusting well and making the most of things.

I'll take the silver lining, at least he got some K's.

Take your ball and go home ^^^^. That's why they're minor leaguers. They're learning. You cant remedy something by stats alone. Still hearing his velocity is good and I'LL go with what Andy said and go with the positive which probably hurts some in here. Minor leaguers are going to have more off days, that's why they call it the MINOR LEAGUES!!!!!
