I hope that lineup is wrong. Jones should be in the 5 hole with his numbers against Wells. I'd like to see Kendall on the bench permanently too. I hope I'm wrong, but he has shown me he can do absolutely nothing to help this team.

I hate night games.

Especially during the summer.

Amen, been chasing my 1 yr old all over the house wishing there was a Cubs game on, and now that she is napping, I look at the time and its still 2 hours!

Most of the world works, so we love night games.

That's just not realistic.

Really? He's been with the team like 8 days. Give the guy a shot to acclimate himself before you relegate him to permenant bench duty. It isn't like Koyie Hill tears the cover off the baseball or something.[/b]

I've at least seen Koyie make some pretty good defensive plays and I don't think he has cost us a game yet. You can't say either for Kendall.

Lineups are correct

Bruce, any news real quick before the game starts on rumors you are hearing? Thanks!

No news. I posted something on that Dunn thing. I wouldn't go very far with that at all.

Again Koyie has played in 30 games, and Kendall has played in 4 games for the cubs. I think it's pretty hard to label Kendall for misplaying 1 ball like he's a bad defensive catcher. Also Koyie has only 12 hits this whole year, out of his 25 games that he has had an AB he's been hitless in 15, kept off base completely in 13, and he had 1 game where his only PA was a BB. It's just not enough to convince me to relegate Jason Kendall (who by my and anyone else's own admissions has struggled mightily this season) to the bench daily.

Well I'm cautiously optimistic about the cubs acquiring that power bat they need, even if its not Dunn. Thanks Bruce.

Point taken. I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's washed up. That was wasted money by Hendry in my opinion. I'm sure by me saying that he's going to hit for the cycle tonight, which would make me happy.

We only are losing about 900K on him right? Hopefully one of the two will get hot enough to justify the PT.

I read it was more like 1.5 Million.

For how cheap Kendall came, I really don't think it's possible for him to have been a waste of money. It was worth it to take the chance, even if he really does turn out to be a flop.

I saw that Blanco played a game the other night, anybody have a timetable for him? I would assume that would mean the end of koyie hill, since we're paying Blanco a lot of money for a 35 yr old catcher(2.5M?).

That was my take on the trade as well. He hasn't been good at all this year, but if he can somehow manage close to his .396 OBP from the second half of last year, then he's an upgrade.

I had heard 900K as well, but haven't looked it up myself.
