First of all, thank you Fred for helping me out with he 7/22 thread.

 

The Cubs now invade St Louis for a three game, mid week series.

 

The big man, Carlos, brings to battle his 12-7 record, 3.69 ERA, and 1.26 WHIP. He has struck out 117 and walked 59 batters in 136 2/3 innings pitched.

 

He also looks to extend his scoreless innings streak, which currently stands at 15 and 2/3.

 

Look for Carlos to bring his "appetite" for winning...

The unfortunate victim on the otherside of this matchup is Kip Kip "Hooray" Wells.

 

He will enter action sporting a record of 4-12, a 5.75 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. He has struck out 76 and walked 50 in 101 2/3 innings pitched.

 

He's about as handsome as he is good at pitching. Not very.

You're probably right, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we crush Wells. 10-2 Cubs

You're probably right, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we crush Wells. 10-2 Cubs

is maroth a lefty? if so then that is really [expletive] to bump him for kip wells cuz we all know the cubs problems against Left handed starters this season....Here's hopin the return of DLee starts another nice stretch of wins after *gasp* losing two in a row for the first time in a month

yea i kno he has been terrible, but i mean a lefty against the cubs...id take my chances instead of throwing kip wells....but no matter who goes out there the cubs need to JUST WIN
