Nice to see this team can win without Lee & Ramirez.

But what I wonder is if Koyie Hill will will get the start tomorrow over Kendall.

I say play the hot hand until it cools off.

I think Lou is still going to go with Kendall.

Lou isn't that stupid is he.

Lou said yesterday that Kendall will play tomorrow.

He's going to start Kendall. Said it's going to be Kendall 4-5 days a week, planned to give him today off. Jason needs to get familiar with the pitchers, highly necessary. Similar to the QB/Center relationship in football, needs to get a feel for each other.

Wow, watching the highlights now, and Jacque Jones looked like he was having a great time out there today. Good for him.

Winning does wonders to demeanor... No matter how one feels about JJ, I agree it is good to see him playing like a kid & enjoying the game. He isn't a bad guy, I think, so I hope he continues playing w/ some joy. maybe we'll get lucky in the process & he'll start producing on a semi-regular basis...

How'd he do today? Work called me away, I missed the whole game, including Hill's performance

I would love to see JJ catch fire for 2 weeks, hit 4-5 HRs or so, and then be rolled out to the Yankees with additional assets for A-Rod.

Jones went 1-2, 2 RBI, 1 R, 2 BB/1 K

After he got his 2 run single he did a fist pump and clapped his hands at first, and when he slid in home and scored he kinda rolled and got up laughing and high fived one of his teammates. I twas the most fun I've seen him have as a Cub.

This lead prevents Z from getting a QS.

Lewis out to CF. 1 down

What does our offensive production have anything to do with QS's?

The only reason Z came out after 5 IP was because of the 9-0 score. A pitcher has to go 6 innings with 3 or fewer runs to get a quality start.

I guess next time Lou should tell his players to stop scoring so that Z can chase a meaningless statistic.

cubs offense is so selfish

JESUS, I was just pointing out a fact

No, you weren't.

A quality start has to do with the number of runs a pitcher allows, not the number of runs his own team scores.

I think he meant that if we didn't have a huge lead, Z would've stayed in the game.

Hmmmmmm, I guess you didn't read the part of this conversation that I highlighted! I already said that. I fully understand how a pitcher qualifies for a QS.

Again, my point is Z was removed because of the 9-0 lead. The consequence of the lead was Lou removed Z from the game which meant he had no chance to pitch the next half inning and try to qualify for a quality start. Who knows, he may have given up 4 runs in the next half inning because he had been sitting on the bench for almost 30 minutes while the Cubs batted around... Leaving the game after 5 innings removed the possibilty.

Anyway, my point still stands.

That's exactly what I meant.
