Of course the 7BB had something to do with the loss, but you're forgetting that those BBs can also be placed squarely on the shoulders of Kendall, whose game-calling abilities have obviously been way over-hyped.

so apparently catcher's ERA is not a bogus stat!

His game calling abilities have been overhyped? Or possibly this was his first time working with Cubs pitchers ever and he probably had only 3 hours of pre-game to go over a game plan most batteries have had spring training and all year?

well oakland had the #2 ERA+ in the american league... not saying that kendall was the reason, but obviously somebody is doing something right there. On paper, that team doesn't have great pitching.

I was agreeing with you. Disagreeing with the original quote.

Koyie Hill must have Brewer fans saying are you kidding me...just like how i say it everytime i see that damn tony graffanino, craig counsell, and damien miller have these types of days

Or the same feeling I get when I see Corey Hart, JJ Hardy, and Ryan Braun hit homer after homer.

You're kidding right. Hart and Braun, in particular, are top-flight prospects who mashed throughout the minors. Braun hitting a home run for them is like A Ram hitting a home run for us.

That doesn't make it any less obnoxious. Hating on the first place team is not something that requires rational thought.

agreed on the rational thought, but still the 7 rbi days from miller are really hard to handle compared to hart and braun hitting Home Runs

The Brewers being any good is hard to handle too.

Before the game, you know that the Cubs will have two players who combine for 3 for 4, 2BB, 2R, and 7RBI. Quick show of hands of who here would have predicted this is Jock Jones and Koyie Hill.

:crickets:

maybe wit this lineup i would have thought of jones, not picked him, but thought of him....koyie hill tho...no way in hell

You guys remember when Dusty would unnecessarly leave his stud starting pitchers in with huge leads?

Me too.

Thank god Lou doesn't.

You mean like leaving Prior in for over 120+ pitches with a 12-3 lead in Game 2 of the NLCS??

Notwithstanding your failure to get the facts right, that's the best example of Dusty's "leave em in with a big lead" strategy killing us.

What is wrong with my facts. OK it was a 12-2 lead. But he came on and faced 2 batters in the 8th before Baker finally pulled him. If he didn't have 120 pitches he had more than 115, Im 99% sure.

116 pitches.

Dan Haren would like to have a word with you.

he's really good... but the rest of the rotation is gaudin, kennedy, blanton and some combo of dallas braden, harden and lenny dinardo. The bullpen also looks pretty average overall.

i like gallagher a lot, but please send him back to iowa. It's pointless having him around as a mop-up guy, and honestly his location is not sharp enough at this stage of his career to be an asset to the 2007 cubs.

Hopefully when Demp gets activated, he'll get sent down.
