MLB baseball seriously needs to get this done and out of the way. The length of time that it is taking them just shows how incompetent they are.

The problem is DeRosa would be our 1B and RF vs. lefties. We're going to have to have Floyd or Ward start against a lefty if Floyd isn't on the DL and replaced with Murton.

which is why it would be nice to move on lofton immediately and let pagan play in rf against lefties.

EDIT: maybe not, just peeped lofton's numbers against lefties, not good.

We need to wait and have him serve this after we've traded for Dunn and Posada. The hit on our line-up will be much less then.

What about Julio Franco?

A quick pick up who has hit lefties well in his career. He would only have to play first base against lefties during Lee's suspension. Then he remains on the bench as a ph. If it doesn;t work out then it doesn't hurt to cut ties.

He's old but as a ph off the bench for cheap...it may work.

Unless of course there is some deal out there that can be made and in particular made by Hendry.

I mentioned Franco in the Transactions thread reporting his release. Despite the questions surrounding him, I think it would be a good pickup - his numbers against lefties this year are quite good.

The only catch is that he can (to the best of my knowledge) only play first base, meaning to have ample backups elsewhere we'd likely have to go with 11 pitchers. Fine with me, but probably not with Hendry and Lou.

i don't think we'd be in that bad of shape, so long as derosa is the 1st baseman.

He should have dropped his appeal during like the Washington series when we didn't need him that much.

I don't see why the Cubs wouldn't give the Dope man a look. He's putting up some pretty impressive numbers in Iowa. Call him up when Lee serves his suspension.

Dopirak? He's putting up mediocre/bad numbers in Daytona.

What happened to Dopirak? He was injured last year (I think) and seems to have never been the same since. Am I right or is it something else?

I think Dope's problem is that he's no longer on the dope

I was talking about Abe being on dope, for suggesting Dope.
