Any Interest in Bako?

Bako is an excellent defensive catcher.

 

Currently he's hitting 211/283/266.

 

Right now Hill is hitting 167/246/259 and Bowen is hitting .043/179/043 since coming to Chicago.

 

Bako should be cheap to acquire. Go get him. Bako might be the missing piece.

I agree that Ausmus could be a realistic upgrade. I'm also holding out hope that the Yankees would trade Posada and that Posada would accept a trade to the Cubs. (Yeah, I know. Not likely.)

Just doesn't seem like much of a difference to the outcome of this season. Kind of seems like a waste of Hendry's limited mental resources. Why not just dump one of our 2 Cs and bring up Soto?

If you're looking for a defensive C that can be had cheap with a team taking on much of his salary who would be an upgrade...

 

Rod Barajas in Philly. Coste is healthy now, Ruiz has outplayed Barajas and has no where to play. He can hit for some pop, good defensively, will struggle to get on base.

 

I would offer them Izturis and whatever cash to balance it out to Philly for Barajas. Philly lacks a MI utility type and they have not room for Barajas and will likely release him. This also makes a path for Cedeno. :)
