I've come to really like BB and would be disappointed if he left. And as much as I liked Grace as a player, I really found him hard to listen to the other day, although that may have had something to do with his partner. He may grow on me with more exposure, but I highly doubt it. He was pretty brutal IMO.

Just say no, Bob. That's a dead-end job anyway, and I have a feeling the Cubs would make some awful hire to replace you.

Anyone longing for Carter lamenting Delino being stuck in the a-hole.

Or interviewing someone and asking them how a dead guy is doing. I almost died that day from laughter.

That was easily one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

Joe asked Jim McMahon if he keeps in touch with Pete Rozelle. Jim informed Joe that Pete had been dead for a few years.

When Joe Carter was in the booth a few years ago, an NFL player was their guest one day (I can't remember which one). Carter said to the player "Hey, I know you and commissioner Rozelle didn't see eye to eye during your playing days...how's your relationship doing now" and the player responded "Well, I guess it's fine now..he died about 5 years ago"

It was just so perfect. I wonder if it's on the internet somewhere. I was driving and had to pull over for about 15 minutes. I still laugh just thinking about it.

As much as I love Mark Grace, he's pretty bad in the booth (except forsome humerous points of view). At least the few times I have heard him.

When Stone left, I didn't know who could possibly take his place. Bob Brenly is really good at what he does. I don't know if he was as good at explaining things in the beginning, but his analysis and explanations are very good IMO.

I hope he stays because I hate change, but if he goes I think Stone returning would make me happy.

you were watching the game while driving?

They replayed it on the radio the next day. I actually didn't catch the TV broadcast.

ah, makes sense. I remember the TV broadcast, it happened before I had TiVo. Joe asked Jim and I was too busy in thinking mode to let Jim's answer fully hit me. One of my friends called immediately and was laughing so hard I could barely understand him. We still joke about it.

It took until this season for Brenly to win me over, but I'll agree that you can't fault the guy for taking a managing job. Even if it is with the Reds.

My vote is for Stoney. He could easily do his segments with 670 from the road, and change the schedule around a bit to accomodate the games. I guess the problem might be a familiar one though. Now he is free to unload on whoever he sees fit. If a Cubs employee again, he certainly would have to temper that. So much so that it might kill his usefulness as a radio analyst.

But I still want him back in the booth.

Stoney on 670 just said "he'll have to wait and see what happens."

Seems pretty obvious he would want the gig, though obviously he isn't saying it.
