Right now, Z has 9 wins which is tied for third in the NL.

That alone makes him great in the eyes of MLB.

The number of wins a pitcher has says nothing about how well they're pitching. Of course, it would be asking too much to expect MLB to realize that.

Matt Cain's ERA is almost 80 points lower than Zambrano's, and he's got 2 wins and 9 losses. (3.38 ERA to Zambrano's 4.20)

I don't really care either way (in fact it probably gave me an excuse not to watch the worthless game), but there's no way the voting wasn't rigged to get Bonds in. Simply impossible for BB to jump 220,000 votes on Fonz in less than a day no matter how many Calfornians vote.

There's no doubt it was rigged. People were speculating about how Bonds was going to get into the ASG and the headache it was causing the commissioner, and perhaps the least popular player in the game gets a huge surge in voting at the last second. It's clear as day.

Having said that, I don't care. The ASG rosters are a perennial joke anyway, and Bonds probably deserves it (statistically, at least).

Cain has been unbelievably unlucky this year.

So, did anyone catch that over the head basket catch by our "below average defensive 3B" tonight?

It's too bad he's already been pegged as a bad defender because he might be Gold Glove worthy this year.

That was a great catch, and he has been all you could ask for from any player on the team. He has recently came through in the clutch, he is hitting even with no REAL protection behind him, and he makes all the plays in the field. I was worried being that he just got a nice contract that he would slump this year, but he is prob. the best player on the team or at least very close to it. He deserved to be in the ASG!
