Barry was down by 120,000 and surpasses by 100,000. I say again something stinks.

Apparently the officials from the $tealer$/Seahawks Super Bowl were in charge of tabulating the results.

Sosa didn't get ripped off, he doesn't deserve to make it. Given that park and his low avg/obp (which his low amount of hits counters his 14 HRs as far as slg%), he doesn't deserve to be there.

I'd rather Z just get some rest and some time off. He doesn't need to pitch in the All-Star game. Congrats to Lee and Soriano.

That's how I feel. I hope Z pitches Tuesday, Sunday, and then again the next Friday to open the second half. It would really help the team keep rolling, and I don't really want the All-Star game to possibly disrupt that.

Ramirez got ripped off.

Aramis Ramirez: 61 games, .306, 15hr, 47 rbi

David Wright: 79 games, .288, 14 hr, 44 rbi

Miggy Cabrera: 78 games, .329, 17 hr, 57 rbi

If anything it should be Cabrera starting and Ramirez in reserve. I guess the New York vote was too much to surmount.

I blame Washington for sucking so bad and only having Dimitri Young to send. That took away the third 3rd baseman from the NL.

David Wrong over Aram is a crime.

To be fair Wright generally plays gold glove calibre defense and Aramis and Cabrera are below average. I think picking any 2 of those 3 is fine and the 3rd is a snub to make room for the dumb nat player.

Same with the SS's, a very strong argument can be made for Renteria and Rollins being as valuable as Hardy. Another argument can be made for Ramirez being as valuable as Reyes and more valuable than Hardy.

Selig is such a gutless wonder. If anything MLB should have manipulated the voting to make sure Bonds WASN'T invited. What a great idea, use the All Star Game as a vehicle to promote a cheating lowlife that is a disgrace to the game. Maybe Selig can get George Mitchell to give him a big wet kiss before he runs out to take the field on his degenerative knees that have been overtrained as a result of his steroid abuse. Victor Conte can be waiting in the outfield and Bonds can sign a ball for him then have him rub the cream on his shoulder and put a few drops of the clear under his tongue. The whole think makes me want to puke. No way I even watch 1 minute of all star festivities or game if Bonds is involved.

False. Aram has been anything but below average on defense this year.

Agreed he has improved more than any 3rd baseman over the past 3 years.

Hogwash. Wright has 3 times as many errors as Aramis this year. Aram's defense has been superb lately.

Aramis is still behind him in every other significant defensive stat and to be fair using a 1/2 season sample is pretty useless for fielding. Wright beats him in win shares, beats him in every range based defensive metric I can find. I'm not saying Aramis doesn't belong just saying that I don't see how Wright making it is a bad thing.

If you want to complain its that all 3 aren't in not that any single one is in.

Or you could complain because Aramis Ramirez is the better player than David Wright. On 5 years Wright should be starting, as of right now Ramirez is the option you need to pick if you want to win.

I don't really care either way (in fact it probably gave me an excuse not to watch the worthless game), but there's no way the voting wasn't rigged to get Bonds in. Simply impossible for BB to jump 220,000 votes on Fonz in less than a day no matter how many Calfornians vote.

Of course MLB rigged it. They even went as far as rigging it so Soriano gets in (since he got shafted on the vote).

I don't think Soriano is an all star this year.

So Zambrano is in the Final Vote despite being the 5th best starter on the team? Wow.

Right now, Z has 9 wins which is tied for third in the NL.

That alone makes him great in the eyes of MLB.

How is he not? The NL selected 7 outfielders for this. Soriano is among NL outfielders:

6th in OPS

6th in BA

13th in OBP

5th in SLG

4th in HR (tied)

3rd in 2B (tied)

2nd in RS

3rd in Hits

11th in SB

1st in outfield assists (tied)

0 errors (the only OF on the All-Star team to do that)

Whichever stats you like, Soriano is an All-Star. He's been better than Carlos Lee for example all the way around, and Lee is an All-Star-so Soriano isn't even the worst OF on the squad.
