To be fair, Petrick has very solid numbers in 30 innings of relief so far this year at Tennessee.

He's a former starter who moved to the pen this season after labrum surgery at the end of 2005.

Haha...he's 23 man...but the poster on ITI said it's "per two sources in the farm system" so take it for what it's worth. I will go with it for now, because this is a fairly reliable poster over there.

Petrick huh? A pitcher who's done really well in relief, has been a starter so he's shown he can handle high pitch counts, and has gone more than an inning in 7 out of his last 10 outings. This seems like a very good choice for a long reliever to me (and maybe short reliever until Dempster gets back).

I was hoping he'd be moved back to the rotation at somepoint, but oh well. I think I would rather have seen Piggy called up.
