Why the hell do you send Howry out there for the 3rd day in a row?? I know the bullpen is short but I'd think that there were better options out there.

Like who?

It would have been Marmol and Ohman's 3rd day in a row also I believe. Wuertz and Eyre were already used.

When you have a 5-man bullpen, you don't have many options. I don't blame Lou completely. It was a 5-run lead and he wanted to avoid those guys going 3 days.

This is all on Lou.

Yep.

Now I don't think Lou handled things as well as he could have, but that's a ridiculous statement. 8-3 in the 8th. He's been with 10 pitchers the past few days and doesn't have a whole lot of options. He was trying to get Eyre through the game with a huge lead. Once Eyre gets hit, he brings in the new closer and he gets hit too. Not much he could do. He didn't want to have to use Marmol again because he's been using him so often and Marmol has been starting for awhile and probably shouldn't be pitching every single game. I blame this on Howry. Eyre got hit to start the 9th but Howry should have came in and stopped the bleading. If you don't want to blame it on him, then blame it on Hendry. Make a frickin move to bring up a pitcher.

the fact that he didn't makes me really hopeful it's because Jacque is gone tomorrow.

I think I would sacrifice a win to get rid of Jacque at this point.

so...why did we not bring up a pitcher today?

The answer to that question is always the same answer applied to everything else.

It's becuase we have a s*** for brains people who runs this sorry organization.

yep

God forbit pitchers, you know, get a few guys out.

Eyre did get six guys out. He shouldn't have been sent out for the ninth.

God forbid, Lou learn how to use a pen. He's messed it up all year long.

Hey he was trying to do fatboy a favor and get his confidence back up. yeah, it was a bad move, but if chunk didn't walk the first 2 batters of the inning, this big inning probably woundn't have happened.

Winning a game is more important than his confidence. Lou should have never tried to extend Scott a third inning. It was dumb. Dusty Baker level dumbness.

As we all have seen, Eyre has been shaky. He was anything but lights out in the 2 previous innings. Sending him out there was stupid.

This one is on Lou. Sure it would be nice if Eyre could pitch there, but expecting him to make it through that inning unscathed is the definition of stupidity.

got to thank Eyre Howry and Lou for blowing this one for us.

actualyl, just pin this one on lou. howry is pitching for the third straight day and came in with runners on. eyre was being used for a 3rd inning out of the pen which should *never* happen.

good point

This is on Lou...what in the sam hell was he thinking sending Eyre out for a THIRD inning? He hasn't made 3 scoreless consecutive appearances All freakin year...why in the heck did he think he'd do it 3 times in one game...it was stupid and is going to cost us this game....my god is it frustrating.

Howry came in with the TYING run on the on deck circle. Not a great situation, but certainly one that he should have been able to get out of fairly easy.

This thread has illustrated to me how certain posters have thousands of posts...a lot of meaningless and repetitious blabber to pad post counts.

Pot meet kettle.
