Must've been nice to have run support in Detroit for Maroth. Kind of difficult to spin a 5-2 record with a 5.06ERA and 1.66WHIP. Chances are he'll become the ace in St. Louis

I believe he signed a 2 year deal prior to the '06 season. Not sure if there are any options or not. Seems to be a pretty decent deal to me. Give up nothing for a left handed innings eater that should benefit from coming the NL Central.

Saw Maroth on Monday here in DC against the Nationals. I wasn't very impressed. He had an 8-1 lead and proceeded to completely unravel - walking 4 and allowing 6 hits in 5 innings of work. He couldn't locate his fastball and all his offspeed stuff was worse.

 

And we're talking the Nationals!
