Well, people - 8 games back

we can take 2 of 3 tomorrow but it won't matter either way because the Brewers will just win again.

They don't play tomorrow. But they will probably sweep the Royals and we'll be 10 back after this weekend. Fire Sale time soon.

the brewers aren't even THAT good. Don't complain about the fact that they win. The Cubs have the 12th worst record in baseball, they aren't a good team, and they have no business being anywhere close to the division lead. The Brewers are a mid-market team that has used astute trading and strong player development to build a good team; the large-market Cubs have made irresponsible management and player signings, and have been mediocre at player development. The Cubs have made their own crappy bed, and now they're lying in it.

We should throw a huge NSBB bash when Hendry is gone. He has done so much harm to this organization it is absolutely ridiculous.

Mike Fontenot, a 27-year-old rookie second baseman, hit fifth for the Cubs tonight.

In a DH lineup.

For a $100+ million payroll team.

I'm sorry, that's just absurd.

What's absurd is Jacque Jones gets to play here. The guy is having a terrible season and needs to be let go. Addition by subtraction.

and they just traded the guy who has been one of their best offensive performers over the past three seasons.

That about sums it up...

It's beyond absurd. It's ......... I don't know, what's a word for beyond absurd?

I was seriously disgusted with that lineup, so completely impotent.

I had to laugh when Len and Randy and Paul talked about the team's willingness to sacrifice offense since they think they have enough. My lord, this is pathetic. A $100 million franchise with holes everywhere and absolutely nothing in the minors that can make it better for another 2-3 years, at least.

I don't understand how Len and Paul can justify glorifiying the "amazing" play of the cajun connection. Fontenot has been good, but Theriot has played like the 25th man that he is. I did get the feeling that Len and Bob felt like shredding Jacque when the camera would focus on him after his pathetic at bats, but I guess they decided to be restrained.

I saw the lineup, watched the first inning, and basically chalked it up as a loss. Boring baseball watching the bottom 2/3rds of that lineup. I couldn't even watch it and I'm a Cubs fan.

Ludacris is the word you are looking for.

Koye Hill

Mike Fontenot

Ryan Theriot

Stellar.
