I figured this injury needed it's own thread rather than being nestled in the Boise roster thread.

AZ Phil made a post and made mention about Pawelek's broken RIGHT arm:

On the injury front, LHP Mark Paweklek does indeed have a broken arm, but..

1. It’s his right (non-throwing) arm

2, It’s a hairline fracture

3. He’s not even wearing a cast

4. He’s able to participate in long toss, although he can’t wear a glove on his right hand.

It doesn't sound to me that this would be a season-ending injury. Hopefully he'll be back pitching somewhere soon so he can get his career back on track. He needs to start making progress quickly so the Cubs can be justified in protecting him and starting the option clock when he becomes Rule 5 eligible.

if he can get 5 starts out of this season that would be great! I think he needs to be in peoria next year if he is still going to be considered a prospect. hopefully he can show up in shape for the first time in his life as well.

How did he break it?

Only the Cubs:

And not even Pawelek expects you to believe how it happened.

I got up out of the bed to use the bathroom at about 1:30 in the morning. I was walking in the dark and tripped on my PlayStation. I hit my arm right on the corner of the wall. I fell down and landed on my arm wrong,” Pawelek told Inside The Ivy from Mesa Tuesday.

I think that may be worse than slipping out of a hot tub, or sneezing your back out.

typically, tripping at home is a euphemism for being drunk when you got hurt.

that's why I'm currently on vicodin (somehow my cartilage is no longer attached to a large section of my ribcage)

Sweet, now you can get drunker faster!!!!
