That's on Izturis, he needs to take that.

everybody froze because Marquis called for the play. Luckily, it didn't hurt him.

Izturis was nowhere near the play.

Again, his fault. Pop-ups in the middle of the infield are the SS's responsibility, he needs to be right there if he's not calling off everyone to make the play.

ya that would be a problem, a pop up in the middle of everyone in the infield is the short stops ball, if Izturis doesnt catch it, let alone get near the play, thats on him.

I'm pretty sure Izzy was on his way to guard his pot-of-gold.

I blame Jacque.

"of all the things that have gone wrong for the cubs this year, defense has not been one of them." -- brewers announcer.

it hasn't? how the hell do you know? theres more to defense than fielding percentages....point in case as i type

ps- cannot be an error.

Uhhh...

Cubs are 7th in the majors (4th in the NL) in team defensive efficiency. So, in general, if a ball is hit in play, we are very likely to make the play compared to other teams.

JOKE:

How many Cubs does it take to catch a baseball?

PUNCHLINE: Apparently more than 5.

Speaking of warning track. ANOTHER "almost HR" for the cubs. They lead the league I'm sure.

Someone needs to tell Barrett it's okay to let pitches 3 feet off the outside corner go, and it's even worse when you roll over on that pitch.
