"of all the things that have gone wrong for the cubs this year, defense has not been one of them." -- brewers announcer.

it hasn't? how the hell do you know? theres more to defense than fielding percentages....point in case as i type

ps- cannot be an error.

Uhhh...

Cubs are 7th in the majors (4th in the NL) in team defensive efficiency. So, in general, if a ball is hit in play, we are very likely to make the play compared to other teams.

how many times have we complained about barrets defense? about jacques arm? about jacques defense? about murton's defense in right? there not terrible, but they aren't great by any means.

I'll agree with you on that. But our defensive woes are far overstated. People may complain all they like, but that doesn't really turn our team defense into a problem.

i figured if the cubs players really didn't like lou as much as buster olney would have us believe, they would really pour it on when he's gone.

you know, maybe it's as simple as a manager really not making a big difference either way.

(i understand the +/- 5 game thing)

How long is it going to be before Lou jumps out of the suite? And when he does, will it be because of the team's bonehead plays, or because he has to spend three hours with Hendry?

interesting that the only two players quoted both said "as far as i'm concerned," when talking about how they feel in regards to lou.

that and jim said he isn't disappointed in any of the players. haha.

luckily our defense is not a problem...

I must have missed the part where one game is the same as the season.

Bruce Miles pretty much indicated that Hendry was clueless as to this teams problems.
