I know I'm just stating the obvious but...

As of right now, five of the worst six records in the NL belong to teams residing in the Central. Think about that for a second.

The last place team in the NL West, the Rockies, would be in second place in the Central.

No team in the NL Central has a winning record in interdivision play. Conversely, only two teams have a losing record against the NL Central (Florida at 6-7 and Washington at 5-8).

Only the Brewers have a winning record against either the NL East or West and they are only 9-8 against the East.

I'm expecting one of the second place teams in either the NL East or West (whichever is in 2nd in the Wild Card) to petition Bud Selig to allow two teams from the East and two from the West into the playoffs and just have all six Central teams stay home in October.

I hate the Cubs.

Cubs fans who hate the Cubs, a much needed support group.

It was in Fight Club, no? In the room next to the testicular cancer group and just after the flesh-eating parasite group.

Watching this Brewers team depresses me. We should be better then them. We really should.

You're right. Our bullpen has blown a ridiculous amount of games.

Really?

Their pitching is good (not great), they play solid defense, and their lineup is pretty darn impressive when you consider that they've got Billy Hall hitting 7th.

If they were to rent a big OF bat at the deadline, they'd be very scary.

I don't understand how that makes their lineup any more impressive considering he hasn't been good this year.

Their lineup is very Cubs like, with more homeruns. I don't think I'd call it all that impressive.

Not getting any better- 41 under now.

Central v.

East: 31-39 (42 of 70 is by Brewers and Cubs)

West: 25-52 (the rest of the division mostly)

IL: 18-24

Only NL clubs above 500 in IL are the Fish, Phils, Nats, and Cubs- which is very disheartening.

And the Brewer Magic # now sits at 93.

WE WON AN INTERLEAGUE SERIES!!!

OK, so it's the Rangers. We still took the first two. And, we can sweep tonight!

OK, so we'd still be 8 games under .500

We're NOT in last place! And, we're only 7 out of first! (Just trying to find something happy to talk about.)

The total records of each division as I post this.

American League:

East - 163-161 (2 games over .500 / .503 win %)

Central - 162-161 (1 game over .500 / .503 win %)

West - 137-124 (13 games over .500, .524 win %)

National League:

East - 167-161 (6 games over .500, .509 win %)

Central - 175-218 (43 games under .500, .445 win %)

West - 176-153 (23 games over .500, .535 win %)

Notables:

- AL West only has 4 teams.

- NL Central has a grand total of 6.

- NL West, a 5-team division has 1 more win than the NL Central, a 6 team division.

- Every division is above .500, except... well, you know.

Those numbers don't add up. The combined record of every team in baseball is .500, but that has the major leagues sitting at two games above .500.

Every single team in the NL Central actually won today. I'm willing to bet this is the first day all year that the NL Central went 6-0.

The NL also went 7-0 on the road in AL stadiums and 11-3 against the AL overall.
