Did I read correctly on Fred's stats? That the Cubs have a .340 team OBP for the year? That can't be true. Cause that would actually be, well . . . not awful.

It is true-they are 4th in the NL right now.

1st in May, after being 10th in April. Not a surprise that this coincided with their climb back up the standings, and 8-5 record.

Since Cubbies75 usually hangs out in the Game Threads, I would like to post an apology to him/her for the rude comment I made some weeks ago. No other explanation for it other than I was being an arse.

we got that weather at about noon eastern time. Right in the middle of my daughter's Field Day at preschool. Yep, downpour on about 200 2-5 year olds

We got that poop yesterday, it rained for about 5 hours. I hope they get this game in. I wanna see another Rammy Slammy.

I think they can get the game in after a delay...it's still 2.75 hours to game time and the rain should hit the ballpark really soon. Also, the rain behind the leading edge is breaking up.

It went from bright and sunny/hazy to blue/grey in about 3 minutes. There's an 80% chance of rain through 9 and 50% through midnight. The chances of getting this game in aren't good.

The rain is tracking from the SW to the NE. The stuff that is currently over Baltimore is going to hit NY in the coming hours. The area that has broken up, in NE PA and NW NJ is going to travel well north of NYC. We're going to be getting rain until at least 8/9 pm, and there will be pockets of rain the rest of the night. I'm not sure they will want to wait it out, when they can easily fit in a day/night DH tomorrow and have many more people show up.

with all due respect, I'll tend to trust the guy sitting in the storm over the guy sitting 3000 miles away
