i am not talking about pipe dreams here...so...please keep everything within the realm of the definitely possible...

the cubs are being sold...things are going to change...what would you like to see happen...honestly...

wow, thanks for the positive feedback

sorry i wasn't around for the past discussions

nevermind

Don't let them get to ya.

What I think would be best for the team. .

Fire Hendry (or let him go, whatever) even though I've been a suppoter, we need a smarter GM. One who says. "WE NEED TO ADD SOME OBP GUYS TO ALL THESE SLUGGERS".

Trade Jones and make Pie your staple in CF next year.

Trade or aquire a decent slugging LH bat who is good against LHer and RHer but more so against LHer. Get him in RF, SS, 2B, or C. (IE, somewhere where there is not already somone really good). That way you have 2 LH in your lineup. RF would be the easiest since RF is where it's easy to get a "good bat".

Make Theroit your everyday 2B, and get a good all around SS. OBP is the more important stat in this aquisition.

Much as I love the guy, trade barret and get a really good defensive C but one that is atleast decent offensively.

Trade Zambrano for a good prospect. Use this money to "correct" this offense. By adding some high OBP guys.

With Hill and Lilly being pretty good. With one of our young prospects hopefully coming up. We could try to go out and get an exciting young ML ready P or OF player with all of the young talent we have.

There are alot of things that can be done to improve. And I think it starts with letting Hendry go.

Wow, another potential customer turned away by holier-than-thou, prudish sarcasm.

Nice work guys.

Who is this person??

The only person who ever seems to fit people's definition under this is Ivan Rodriguez.

who here would really like to see big Z traded?

a little while ago, I would have said no...but...i just don't know where his head is currently...and the amount he wants on his contract is ridiculous...

plus...i am almost exactly as old as zambrano...man, i don't have anywhere near as good as stuff as he does, but i can tell you one thing, i wouldn't lose my head out there like he does...

do you think we could package jones and zambrano, or is that too out there?

Wow...

Even if its a joke (which I pray to God that it is), thats one of the funniest things I've ever seen on NSBB.

Maybe we can create some sort of "Cubs lost their most recent game so the season is over" master thread, so we can keep all this stuff in one place?

I'm totally for it.

There already is an existing Chicken Little thread that could be used for that purpose.

I'll give you that, but I don't recall making newer posters feel like they're idiots.

You didn't even think this thread should exist, yet you're still posting here. That's hypocrisy at it's finest.

I love people who say I've given up already. Pretty easy to be this type of fan. If the Cubs fail they can say I told you so. If they don't well the Cubs had a great season and that's what everyone wants. Part of being a fan is riding the peaks and valleys.

While I wouldn't say he's an idiot, that quote above on this page was well worth this uneeded thread existing.

Pudge is only much of a hitter against lefties now. Against righties he's a 7 or 8 hitter.

About the only relatively available catcher I can think of who's above average with both the glove and the bat is Greg Zaun in Toronto... and he's only above average with the glove by a slim margin. Mauer and McCann both fit the billing too, but they're gonna be in their respective organizations for a long time.
