What should the Cubs do with the seventh inning stretch? With the apparent impending sale of the organization, it would seem that that would be a good time to change the tradition.

I'll send the results to the Cubs at the conclusion of the poll.

Letting Santo do it is all well and good (it was a ton of fun being there today for his return), but we gotta face fact that he's not gonna be around working for that much longer due to his health, and then we're right back to this question. Personally, I don't mind the guest conductors. You get some duds, but by and large it's still fun.

I don't see the problem in letting Santo doing the stretch even if he doesn't do radio anymore. In fact, it's a great way to keep him involved with the team he lives and dies with.

The man's lost two legs, a bladder and has had numerous serious surgeries. At this point, I'm convinced the only way he never comes back to the microphone is by act of God.

with that said, let him sing it all the time.

I find it sickly entertaining the way it is. Also, if we keep guest conductors there's still a remote chance that I become a famous sports broadcaster and get a chance to sing it.

Let Santo do it. I'm tired of listening to a bunch of bums who don't even know the song do it just because they're from Chicago and have a movie coming out or whatever. NO MORE GUEST CONDUCTORS!!!

My first choice is to let Santo do it. Hearing him do it today gave me goosebumps. He was so excited and it meant so much to him. He really loves the cubs.

My second choice would be guest conductors. I think it's hilarious when they can't/don't sing.

How do most ballparks do it?

Look, I just don't think Santo's health is going to stand up to him getting out to the ballpark on a regular basis. When he can make it, great, let him sing. I just don't think making him the fulltime conductor isn't any kind of answer because I think, sadly, his health and age are going to not allow him to do it any kind of fulltime basis. Then we're back to the guest conductors, which I don't mind. I think playing a recording is incredibly dull.

if pat, ron, len, bob, wayne messmer or bill murray can't/won't do it, then play a recording of harry.

i'm willing to allow celebrities to do it on the condition that len and bob don't talk to them during the bottom of the 7th, unless they are cubs fans and willing to talk about the game only. but that won't happen, so the above mentioned are the only ones allowed to do it.
